parade was good, just wish the rest of the night was.

[box align=right][color=#b3342e]Last night the kids and I went to the parade. The parade was good, kids really enjoyed it not to mention got a ton of small candy canes. I thought the parade was good, and I would have enjoyed it more, but I got some rather upsetting news before it started.

We ran into several friends of ours, some we haven't seen in a while. They all filled me in on Patrick's brother. A month ago the moron got a DUI. Well now I'm finding out that he's back to selling drugs again. He was arrested 3 years ago for selling. They told me he's not doing drugs again because he's still on probation and the random drug tests, but he's back to selling them again.

Well one of the bands in the parade, Patrick and his brother belonged to when they were younger. While married to Patrick, I became really close with one of the "band moms." So I took the kids over to see her. Well we were talking and she told me that she had heard that Patrick's brother wasn't behaving himself. I told her yeah, he got a DUI last month. She told me thats not the only thing. That people he thinks are his friends are doing a lot of talking, and she's catching a lot of what is being said. She told me she'd fill me in later when there weren't so many ears around.

This morning I had an email from her. She told me the same thing the other 3 had told me. That people who he thinks are his friends are doing alot of talking about him. I sent her an email back asking if she would ask those that she knows are talking if they would let Patrick in on it. Just so that its not only coming from me but coming from them too.

So thats 4 people that gave me the update on what his brother is doing.

Since Patrick's so sick, he can't be by himself, so instead of moving in with his mom, he moved in with his brother. Meaning my kids have been over there occasionally. That stops now. I called Patrick and invited him to come over today. I don't have a problem if he sees the kids, but I will come pick him up and bring him over here so he can. My kids WILL NOT be stepping foot inside that house ever again. I'm done. I thought his brother was one of the better ones in that family and I'm finding out that he's just as bad as the rest.

The worst part is, I honestly believe Patrick is clueless that this is going on. After the DUI Patrick said something about his brother was doing so good and was finally straightening himself out. Well apparently not.

I just hope that this goes smoothly with Patrick.

journal writing, shopping, parade

Last night I finally sat down and wrote in my journal. Once I started, I couldn't stop. I didn't realize that I was as scared about these tests as I am. After writing all that, it made this horrible dream I've been having, make alot more sense. Unfortunately there isn't much I can do to put my mind at ease until I get the results back. 10 more days. That seems so far away all of a sudden.

We did some shopping today. I also got some ideas on christmas presents for my nephews. Then emailed my sister with pictures of them to make sure they don't have them. I got D's mom's present, and my best friends present. I just need to get something for her little girl.

We are going to Christmas parade downtown tonight. Its gonna be cold, but we survived last year and the kids really want to go. So pretty much I'm out numbered.

Step out with me into the great unknown
The world's at our feet, let's make it our home
I'm looking at you with the stars up above
It must be true; we're falling in love

I'm totally addicted to the $1 section at target. We are having problems with our bathroom sink so I had to run and get drano and I can never just walk in and go get what I need. I'm always drawn to the $1 section. I swear it calls my name.

Anyway I found these cute calendars. My mom has calendars all over her house to keep track of her work schedule, my step dad's doctors appointments, when his cleaning lady/care giver comes. When he starts new meds or is taken off one. So she is always asking for any calendars we don't want.

This one you tape/glue picture on each month. I thought they were cute so I picked up one for my mom, D's mom, and Patrick's grandma.

Lets talk about pain

  • 11/30/07 2:38 am
The ultrasound on my thyroid was painful. I'm so glad thats done and over with. Now to just have to wait for my doctors appointment on the 11th to get the results.

Today when I picked Jazzy up from school, I talked to her teacher. Both of the girls already finished the off track homework and want more. So I was going to get an idea from her on what to get them. She told me anything working with sight words would be good.

She also told me that she gave Jazzy a gummy hot dog because she knew all of the first set of sight words. She said that she's like a totally differnt little girl. She's opening up more, smiles more, will talk to her about things rather than just sit there like she has been. She's testing them tomorrow on their letter sounds. So when I pick Jazzy up she will go over with me what Jazzy knows, which ones she needs to work on.

Stickers and High Fives

I wish I could go back to when life was easy. Back to when stickers and high fives were the best type of reward.

Working with Jazzy on building her confidence so she'll open up to her teacher more, we've been using stickers. Well this morning she informed me that she still likes high fives too. So when she gets each one right she gets a high five, when she gets 10 right she gets a sticker.

Then when she brings home paper saying she knows all over her sounds she gets to go pick out 2 pages of stickers. Then when she knows all of the sight words she gets to pick out 5 pages of stickers.

I would gladly trade in my bills, mortgage, and all for some stickers and a few high fives.
