I have to much going on today to make a decent entry, but I was hoping you all would go
here and vote for my picture. IF you don't like the picture, you don't have to vote for it. THANKS!
This week was so slow. I think mainly because the kids have been stuck inside all week and weren't able to go outside and run off some energy.
Tomorrow night is our annual halloween party. I'm excited! Its going to be changed a little this year because of the air quality and JayLyn not being able to be outside. Normally we have it in the back yard but this year we are going to have it in backyard and living room. This way people can go outside if they choose, but they don't have to.
Also tomorrow 11-3 is D's company picnic. UGH! Great timing. Because D's manager, he feels we need to go, not like I had other plans. Thankfully D's sister and my friend Molli are going to help with the food and all so I can go play at the picnic for an hour or so. I told D I'm not staying the whole time. I will show up and make an appearance, but that I have things I really have to do. The kids are going to Chuck E Cheese with Patrick's grandmother for the day. I figure its in doors so should be good for Jay. Geri is going to take the portable oxygen, and all just in case.
Everything going on, buying a costume for myself slipped my mind. So I'm going as Malifecent (witch from Sleeping Beauty) again this year (did this costume 3 years ago). The girlies are princesses, big surprise. Robbie is grim reaper. Not sure what D's going as. He kept changing his mind so I'm not real sure which one he decided on. I think its a headless thing holding its head (which is D's head) but I'm not sure.
I took this picture yesterday morning at 8:30/8:40. I think its really pretty, looks like a sunset picture, but that was how yellow the sky was because of the smoke.

The kids school is doing a Jog A Thon this year. They are doing this in place of one of the fundraisers they normally do. The goal is for each child to raise at least $25. $25 + 1500 students is a nice junk of change for the school for fieldtrips, technology things and all.
I personally like this rather than the normal funraisers they have. For 1 most of the things are WAY over priced and the school only gets half of that. I would rather give all of what I'm spending to the school.
D and I have also been talking about seeing if we can talk to some friends of ours and have 4 tickets to Monster Trucks donated to the school and do like a raffle type thing. If we can't get them donated we've talked about buying some and donating them ourselves.
I figure I'm stuck with this school for another 5 1/2 years with the girls being there so I mind as well do what I can to make it a some what decent school. One of the things that would make it better would be to get a principal that cares about the kids rather than pleasing bitchy neighbors.
My head is killing me. I know its from the little bit of time I was outside walking the kids to school and then walking home. Its like maybe a total of 3 blocks, not far, but its still smokey. Doesn't smell as bad as it did the last 2 days, but you can see the ash in the air and the sky is yellow.
I'm feeling worse and worse as the day goes on. Now I have horrible upset stomach. I would have rather kept the headache.
You can see alot of my photography
here. I'm always uploading more and I have a ton of CDs I need to go through and upload.
I have a doctors appointment on Tuesday and I'm starting to get nervous. I haven't felt good in months, I have no energy what so ever, and just feel off.
JayLyn asked me about Trick or Treating today. I feel so bad for her because she may not be able to go. I thought about taking her to the hospital so she could trick or treat there, but not sure I could convince her that was the only reason we were there.
I'm thinking about talking to the neighbors and instead of her going to them, them coming to us. Robbie's all for that because he wants to stay home this year and scare people. And JazzLyn could care less as long as she still gets candy. So we will see.
WOOHOO one of my photos on my
viewbug account won $20.
I had a conference with the girls teacher this morning. Jay's doing good, right on target. Jazzy however is way behind. Main reason, because SHE DOESN'T TALK TO THE TEACHER! When she's doing 1 on 1 with Jazzy, Jazzy just stares at her but won't talk to her. I know Jazzy knows this stuff, because we work on it at home.
I'm looking for websites with activities, or lessons that will help with the sounds of each letter. I figure if I can get her more confident that she knows these, that she might talk to the teacher a bit more. She knows her teacher, she's known her since she was born, so its not her being shy as much as she's afraid to be wrong so she just doesn't answer. I was like this so I need to break her of this now.
Last night we went down to Irvine to help a friend get things out of her house. Molli lost her house in 2003 fire and they were under evacuation yesterday. She took as much as she could, so we went down with a uhaul to help them move as much as could get in the truck in 30 minutes. I know it sounds crazy but they'd already replaced everything they own once, and she didn't want to have to go through that again, not to mention her kids.
I hadn't planned on taking pictures of the fire, but I couldn't resist. We drove right past this part and the hill that this is on, Molli lives right on the other side.
I know they aren't great pictures, no need for rude comments, but they were taken driving past it. I'm not stupid enough to pull off and get out so I could get a decent picture.
You can see satellite views of the fires/smoke
here. Look at how much of a difference less than 24 hours can make!
