I guess

I guess this new kiwi adjustment is ok. I just don't get why the "public" postboards have to be so difficult.

Keep them where they are, fine, but add a link to the main page for them. Like with the rest of the unneeded links at the bottom on the right.

Anyway....

Packing is coming along. Just not very fast. Between me not feeling well and then sick kids. Yeah, its a slow process. Plus I'm going through EVERYTHING and getting rid of a lot. I have 3 garbage bags of clothes to donate. and 2 small boxes of toys to donate.

I got a letter in the mail today. I was really excited at first. its to Damone and Samantha...woohoo stimulus check!!!! Um no. It was a letter telling us that our check should be here by next Friday. Um, thanks for telling me. NOW SEND ME THE DAMN CHECK!

Seriously, how much money was just wasted sending out these letters? Not to mention how many trees could have been saved?

I have to take Jazzy for her follow up appointment. I spent almost 12 hours in ER Wed with her to find out she has an H. pylori infection in her stomach. Nice. I have never seen anyone throw up that much before. I felt so bad for her and there wasn't much I could do.

I thought Robbie had chicken pox. I was wrong. He had staph infection of the hair follicles. Chicken pox would have been better.

JayLyn's the only healthy one. This is an amazing turn of events.

WHAT THE HELL????

I like the layout of the site. However changing everything was a bit much. For one the public postboards are now under a user name?

Then the fact that most of the boards were done away with. What the hell happened to the mother's board.

I'm about done with this site.

I think those of us that have posted on the mother's board should move on to another message board.

Thats really the only reason I even came to this site anymore was for those on the mother's board.

Simple ways to save gas

JonesSoda posted this in her journal, and I figured I'd post it here too. Copy and paste in yours too.

My line of work is in petroleum for about 31 years now, so here are some tricks to get more of your money's worth for every gallon:

Here at the Kinder Morgan Pipeline where I work in San Jose, CA we deliver about 4 million gallons in a 24-hour period thru the pipeline.

One day is diesel, the next day is jet fuel, and gasoline, regular and premium grades. We have 34-storage tanks here with a total capacity of 16,800,000 gallons.

Only buy or fill up your car or truck in the early morning when the ground temperature is still cold. Remember that all service stations have their storage tanks buried below ground. The colder the ground, the more dense the gasoline, when it gets warmer gasoline expands, so buying in the afternoon or in the evening... your gallon is not exactly a gallon. In the petroleum business, the specific gravity and the temperature of the gasoline, diesel and jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products play an important role.

A 1-degree rise in temperature is a big deal for this business. But the service stations do not have temperature compensation at the pumps.

When you're filling up, do not squeeze the trigger of the nozzle to a fast mode. If you look you will see that the trigger has three (3) stages: low, middle, and high. You should be pumping on low mode, thereby minimizing the vapors that are created while you are pumping.

All hoses at the pump have a vapor return. If you are pumping on the fast rate, some of the liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapor..
Those vapors are being sucked up and back into the underground storage tank so you're getting less worth for your money.

One of the most important tips is to fill up when your gas tank is HALF FULL. The reason for this is the more gas you have in your tank the less air occupying its empty space. Gasoline evaporates faster than you can imagine. Gasoline storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between the gas and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation. Unlike service stations, here where I work, every truck that we load is temperature compensated so that every gallon is actually the exact amount.

Another reminder, if there is a gasoline truck pumping into the storage tanks when you stop to buy gas, DO NOT fill up; most likely the gasoline is being stirred up as the gas i s being delivered, and you might pick up some of the dirt that normally settles on the bottom.

To have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of gas buyers.

It's really simple to do.

update on school crap

The principal played stupid and said she didn't know that Robbie was in there, but that the parent is supposed to be notified in cases like this. The nurse called me while I was on the field trip and apologized over and over again. That the principal's secretary was supposed to call me because right after Robbie came in a boy with pink eye came in and she didn't want Robbie in the room with him so she had him sit in the office.

The superintendent called me himself to apologize and told me he would look into it himself that in cases like that they are supposed to call and leave it up to the parent if they want their child to stay at school or go home.

While I was on the phone with him I explained the problems I've had with the principal the last 3 years and told him I had a feeling that had a lot to do with it. He told me he'd take care of it for me.
