Time for a monthly update y/n?

Well, let's see. David is gone for another four weeks (out of a total of five) for work training in ARKANSAS. Apparently it's Dullsville, not that I'm surprised. How sad is it that I'm just glad that I get a break from CoD4? Seriously that game is like crack for that boy. But yeah I hear from him at least twice a day so really I'm doing quite fine.

The night before he left we went to the casino with the in-laws. David I both took out $10 each and figured we'd be done in 10 minutes. I got mine up to $30 and I was all excited about that and then he walks around the corner and shows me he won $460. Craziness. We ended up saving that and splitting my $30 between the two of us to keep playing. He ran out and I got $60, so we ended up pocketing $500 that night.

I went shopping for the first time in ages with some of our winnings. I got two new pairs of jeans, two tops, a new dress, a pair of heeled sandals, and some undies. I'm at that awkward in between sizes time with jeans though. threes are two small and fives are a little big. I went with the fives to see how that goes.

Clinicals at TGH were AMAZING. I love what I'm doing so much (apart from having to wake up before 5am to get ready and get there on time). This next week I'm starting at UCH though. let's just hope I don't get thrown off the deep end like the last bunch.

We also started practicing arterial punctures this past Thursday. I got it on the first try. Here's to getting it right every time! >_< ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stxntv0KkBEmore info on arterial punctures[/link]).

Lecture has been going surprisingly decent so far this semester. It's still full of Professor Espresso* being a complete nutcase half of the time but I've been fairing well with an 'A' in Basic Respiratory and a 'B' in Cardiopulmonary Pathology. And an 'A' in Clinic I'm sure. Now if I can just keep that up.

I believe that's all for right now. http://quarantinemb.com/index.phpYou all know where to find me.[/link]

* pseudonym; someone didn't pick up on that last time.

I'm not "back", but here's an update.

For some unknown reason, I just unconsciously typed in kiwibox.com and signed in. Oh boy. Might as well update and poke around to see how things - and a few people - are doing since I'm here.

I start my first day of clinicals Tuesday. So far this semester hasn't been too brutal - two smaller tests and I got A's on both - but it's only the second week. Professor Espresso is is still as crazy, senile, and sexist as ever. Fortunately I only see him twice a week...all day.

David loves his new job. He leaves next month for 5 weeks of schooling and he already got a raise. Federal jobs FTW. I'm considering applying there after graduation - after I do my rotations there to see how I like it - so I can reap in some federal benefits myself. Then again, it might be best to wait until David's out of the military before I work at the VA, particularly since this is one of the few that has a polytrauma unit.

Speaking of military, David will be going back to Afghanistan. First the word was summer of '09, then mid '08, and now it's spring '10. He's suppose to get out Spring '10, but it's more than likely he'll still have to go; it's very probable that they'll put a stop loss on him. Lucky us.

Piggy was hurt again - this time he got in a fight with a stray/neighborhood cat. He's fine, just a few scratches, but he milked it for all it's worth.

David and I finally invested in a new camera: Canon EOS 400D / Digital Rebel XTi. We would eventually like to get the 40D, but this will work fine for awhile.

I got a haircut:

We had Christmas over at my house this year and I found out that my step-grandfather is an ungrateful asshole. He always bothered me some, but now he REALLY bothers me.

In conclusion, I'm not back. I refuse to be "back". Maybe I'll post an update like this from time to time in hopes of finding an old friend.

Where I'm at these days:
Quarantine. My message board. It's where I'm most active at these days.
Bijoux. Nik's board. I haven't posted much lately, but I'm still around.

My new blog:
Pseudostratified. My journal replacement.
Calcifying. My photoblog. I'm going to move somewhere else soon.

Ways to contact me:
myspace. Just send me a message so I know who you are.

i'll see you around one day, maybe.

You all should know where to find me by now :)

FYI I've made it to clinicals. This is really going to happen, isn't it?
