Does anyone remember after I had Julian I had to go get my tooth fixed? He wasn't more than a few weeks old. I had to pay out of pocket because we don't have dental insurance. I went and got x-rays and a cleaning, got in for an appt to get it fixed, etc. That is, apparently, the tooth that is bothering me. I found within the last year a newer and cheaper dentist, they work on a sliding scale based on income and you pay only what they decide you can afford. Thankfully for me it's not much. Anyway they did an x-ray and guess what. The dentist who filled the tooth a year and a half ago, drilled down but did not fill the gap completely. There is an opening on the bad tooth, between itself and the other tooth, that he didn't fill at all. And there is a gap along the underside of his crappy job, that acts like a tunnel and leads directly to the pulp of my tooth. There has been this open space there for 1 1/2 years, collecting bacteria, food particles, drinks, sugar, salt, everything. It finally became infected (thus my extreme pain) and guess what- because it's been there for so long and has been so exposed, it is now not salvageable. I am 23 years old and I brush, floss, fluoridate, and go to a dentist- and I am losing an adult tooth. Because of someone else's bad work. Someone who got over $400.00 of our family's hard-earned money to help me, and didn't. The dentist I go to now was horrified. He said he can't imagine how bad it hurts and that they will get me in ASAP. That ends up being Thursday morning since I need to wait for antibiotics to take away most or all of the infection. He said it was a terrible job. He looked me right in the eye and said he can't believe it's been like that for so long and how bad it must feel. I am extremely upset. I know appearance isn't everything, I know almost nobody will see that I don't have a tooth there, but I will know. I know people here have had to have teeth removed, I don't think less of you for it or anything. But I don't want to lose mine, it makes me feel like a loser and like I don't take care of myself. I do my damndest to stay out of this position and this is what I get.
[p]It was Ethan's big day yesterday, he turned 5. In the morning after his special breakfast (he wanted scrambled eggs and toast) we went to the park, after the park he wanted to go to Wendy's for lunch so we did, then we went to Wal*Mart and he spent his birthday money on EVEN MORE Star Wars guys (if that's fathomable), then we went to the shore. It was Ethan, Julian, Audrey and I. Rob was at work and Aidan was at his dad's. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ETHAN! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!
Audrey just started smiling when you talk to her sweetly (or should I say, when *I* do [:)]) so there are some WAY cute pictures of her smiling. I had to share, plus I got a request so it's my excuse- haha. Also, Ethan opened his birthday presents on Monday night and we did his cake because his birthday is this coming Friday but Alena and Liam won't be here for over a week and we try to do stuff as a family when we can. So, some really cute pics of that. For those who are wondering, Aidan has longer blonde hair and Liam has shorter blonde hair. People who don't check this often have confused them before. Audrey is 6 wks old as of yesterday. She had a checkup two days ago and weighed in at- TEN POUNDS, FOUR OUNCES! She was 22 inches long. Momma's got some good milk [:)] Ethan had a check up too but they took him into the hall while they did Audrey's stuff and never gave me his stats! I am pretty sure he's close to 50 lbs, he is one solid, heavy kid. I had my 6 wk postpartum checkup yesterday. I am 145 lbs (for my own weight loss goal records). Don't comment on that LOL Here are the pictures! Aidan is wearing one of Rob's t-shirts (which he stained with chocolate). It's his favorite thing to wear. Yum, pretzels! Our cat, Ollie. He insisted, by the way, on sitting on our ratty secondary couch that I mostly use as a laundry catch-all. Until I get the time, I keep folded laundry on it, and where he's sitting is where I usually change everyone- hence the diapers, wipes, diaper bag, etc, up by his head. Not very beautiful. Also take note in pics of the Christmas ornament that Julian found somewhere (who knows where) and brought to me. LOL We got him the candles that don't blow out and he loved them, the kids were amazed that they kept lighting up again on their own LOL My son drinking A1 sauce... ew...
