Wow.. I didn't realize that the last time I made an entry was way back in May... don't know where the time slipped away too.. I just got on a non-writing kick, then just kind of forgot to come back...

But yeah.. not a whole lot has really happened... we took our crazy, cross-country driving trip back in June... we drove from Oklahoma to just west of St. Louis the first night. The second day, we drove up to Chicago and spent the day at the museum of science and industry. That was actually a lot of fun. Then after we left there, we made it to Toledo and spent the night.

The next day, we went up to Detroit, then crossed over into Windsor, Ontario, and drove through Canada to Niagara Falls. We wandered around there for the day, spent the night in the Marriot overlooking the Canadian Falls, and watched the fireworks from our hotel window.

The next day, we drove back into the US and across New York, down into Pennsylvania, and across to New Jersey. We made a stop in Scranton because we're Office fanatics, and it was kind of interesting to see the buildings from the intro, lol. But we stayed in a little town in New Jersey. We never actually made it into NYC, sadly, but we did take the ferry over to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. We boarded on the Jersey City side. I recommend that route if you ever go to the Statue of Liberty. There were very short lines to get on the ferry. But we did see Manhattan from across the Hudson... that city is so ridiculously huge...

Our main reason for going to New Jersey was to attend a friend's wedding. That was actually a lot of fun. It was an outdoor wedding, right on a private lake. It was just a very laid-back, fun time. We didn't get to stay all that long, though, because we had to get up really early to start the drive back. We made it from New Jersey to Oklahoma in 2 days... I don't recommend that, lol. The first day, we drove all the way across Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Indiana, and spend the night in Terra Haute. The second day, we drove from there all the way back home. 13 hours the first day, 12 hours the second...

But, yeah... our trip was the most exciting thing the last few months. We did have our 4th anniversary while on the trip. We didn't really do anything all that special since we were already spending all the money on the trip in general.

Tomorrow, though, is a big day... Lacie turns two tomorrow. I can't believe it... I don't know where the time goes... tomorrow, I'll attempt to do a photo summary of the last two years... We're taking her to IHOP tomorrow night for dinner. I keep asking her where she wants to go, and she's very emphatic about going to IHOP, lol. She likes pancakes..

Okay, so I guess that was a decent catch-up entry... I really am going to try to be better about writing.. I kind of miss it. :)

Alright... back and feeling better. I'm ready for it to get to summer so things will quit blooming and my allergies will behave themselves better. With all the rain we've been getting, things are growing like crazy. My backyard is starting to look like a jungle, but we haven't been able to mow because it won't quit raining long enough to dry things out enough to mow. Right now, we'd just get the lawn mower stuck in the mud... it's sunny right now, but we're supposed to get thunderstorms again tonight... we had one about midnight last night that kept me up...

We've been finalizing our plans for our trip next month. We had all the hotels and everything booked for the drive out to New Jersey, but now we've got our hotel for the three nights we're going to spend in New Jersey. We were also going to buy tickets to go to the Statue of Liberty, but the web site was having issues and it wouldn't process the order. We're going to try again tonight. We've decided to spend one day going out to the Statue, then coming back and hanging out at the hotel and possibly at the gigantic mall nearby... then the next day, we're going to go into Manhattan and spend some time there that morning, then get back for the wedding that evening. The one thing I really want to see more than anything else is where the World Trade Center was. I just really need to see it for some reason.

Part of that, I think, is because my mom has gotten me hooked on Karen Kingsbury's books, and I just finished reading "One Tuesday Morning", which centers around the events of 9/11. That was a very hard book to read. Very emotional. Even now, even though I was no where near New York when it happened, it's hard to think about. I was 16 when that happened. Hard to believe it's been that long already. And, of course, that all makes me think of the bombing of the Federal building in Oklahoma City... sadly, despite the fact that I lived in OKC, I didn't make it to the memorial there until 2007...12 years later... that one was hard to go through too. Especially the display of shoes in the museum... especially the children's shoes...

Anyways... I'm getting myself all sad again, thinking about these things. I guess it's not so bad, though. It's important to remember and still be affected. It's when people stop being affected by the tragedy that we should worry.

I feel absolutely horrible today, so no real entry for me today. I'm also probably not going to make it through journals this afternoon. I just really want to go curl up with a book for awhile...maybe nap...

Wow... I've really been slacking... I've just been really busy the last several days that I haven't even thought about making an entry...

Not that there's been all that much to talk about. I've mostly just been trying to keep on top of housework and things like that.

I did finally get the game I ordered from Amazon... I got "My Personal Trainer" for the Wii. It's actually a really intense game. It takes all your measurements and lets you set a long-term goal. My focus is on weight loss, but there's also cardio, upper body, lower body, and core muscles. But it really works you.. I'm sore and I've only been at it for a couple of days.

This week, Matt has been really stressed at work... they've been switching software for the library and nothing seems to be going right for him. His boss sent him home early yesterday because she saw out bent out of shape he was getting. So then we decided to drive down to Denton and go to Fuddruckers for dinner. It was definitely worth the drive, lol. I love that place... just the mention of it makes me hungry.

After that, Matt decided to run in the Bed, Bath, and Beyond that is right across the parking lot from Fuddruckers. The girls and I just waited in the car because he was just supposed to run in really fast to look for one thing... he found it, but he also came out with my Mother's Day presents... a new coffee pot because Lilly broke mine, and a really nice blender. I've been wanting a blended since my old one didn't survive the move... so I was definitely happy.

But then... there was a Best Buy next door, so he decided to run in there for a second... the girls and I just waited in the car again... and then he came back out with the other part of my Mother's Day present...a Wii Fit. He managed to get the last one. A guy brought out some to restock and they were grabbed up before he could even put them on the shelf... but Matt happened to be in the right place at the right time. So we brought it home and played with it some last night. It's fun, although it's slightly insulting, lol. Apparently I have no sense of balance... it asked me if I found myself falling down a lot... okay, yeah, I do... but still... I don't need a video game telling me that, lol.

So... anyways... I'm gonna try to get to journals today, but if not, then definitely tomorrow. Have a great Thursday!
