Honor at meeting

  • 10/07/09 3:43 am
Well hello everyone.

I just want to start with I would not have a problem with you watching Hector. It really was strange to not have him around. I got lots of cute messages from my brother telling me about him.

I forgot to mention that yesterday we had what they call an employee forum at work. It is a meeting where our hospital leaders put together a presentation on where we stand as an organization. The CEO gets up and says he would like to start the meeting by talking about a patients comment on exceptional patient experience. Well, it was a Thank You letter that I got from a family on BTICU (burn trauma intensive care unit). Then they read a few more of mine that I have got. It was an honor to me. Where was I still coming to the meeting that I just got told about. It was ok, because the leaders all thanked me at the end of the meeting. It was really was an honor even thought I was not there to hear it. At the end of the presentation they showed a case of a kid that was treated by the unit. I knew the kid very well. It was hard for me to watch and relive his case. He is doing very well though.

I also got a Thank You card from my unit that I work on. Thanking me for all that I do for them and the patients on the floor. I was really surprised and I had no idea on how to react to that.

It has been really nice for me to get these comments, because there has been some drama at work. A lot of people I work with talking behind my back saying that I don't do my job. It is nice to know that someone does appreciate my work. I wont lie it was also really nice that the CEO made a big deal about my comments in front of my co-workers. I know that is probably bad, but it was nice.

Well, have a nice day.

Aaron

Hector is having a sleepover

So, they are going to do something with the furnace for my building tomorrow. They want to come in and make sure we aren't going to blow the place up. I didn't want Hector to go crazy when they come in, so my brother is watching him tomorrow. I must admit that it feels strange not to have him chasing me around.

Have a good night all.

Thoughts on touchy issues

  • 10/03/09 12:27 am
Well, on the very good news the snow did not stick to the valley. It stayed up in the mountains. It is just a matter of time now before it does make it down. I really don't mind the snow, but I just don't understand how people can't drive in it. I think spring kills all their memories of the week before when the snow was still coming down.

Every October I watch one scary movie a night. Sometimes I do more than one. Last night I watched The Exorcism of Emily Rose. As I was watching in it my mind was wandering a little. I got to thinking about how everyone thinks the world is going to end. How the world is coming apart. When Jen and I went to the movie the other day there were people in there talking about it and religion and the end of days. I watched BONES last night. I don't know if any of you did, but there was a line in there that went something like this. "Talking for GOD is the greater sin (without knowing HIM or HIS words)." Also people get really caught up in wanting to know when he will be back, and think it all has to do with numbers and try and figure it out. When there is a much better way, and if you read he tells you. People think they can compare their sufferings to Jesus or his Apostles Trust me I am going somewhere with all this...

I am not here as an expert just on what I have studied over my seven years of studying in seminaries and institutes of religion. I also spent time doing missionary work. I will not be dragged into my religion is better than yours fights. What I am about to talk about is from memory and knowledge on the matter I do not have the references off hand.

First I would like to mention that GOD love us all as does HIS son Jesus Christ. They would never stop loving for us and caring for us. Even if we stop believing, curse them, forget about them, or don't understand what they want from us.

I was told by someone that was going to Bible studies that GOD the FATHER, Jesus Christ, and the HOLY SPIRIT are the same person. Read the baptism of Jesus Christ please to understand that they are three different beings.

It has been said that money is the cause of all evil. What people don't get that it is not the object itself but the person that wants the object. Before there was money people used objects to trade with and would lust over those things. Money is just an object of symbolism of power and greed. The human condition is to do anything possible to get it. That is where the cause of evil comes to play not the object.

It also bothers me when people say they that Jesus or GOD just don't understand their suffering and he doesn't love us. I think that, in paying for sins of everyone, he understands exactly what each of us are going through. We need to understand that everything happens for a reason and we need to grow from it. Not sit there and think oh we doesn't love me. They crucified Christ in the worst way imaginable. The pain he felt not many understand. I don't pretend to even begin to comprehend how it must have felt.

About his coming again. There are many signs not numbers that will show the coming of Christ. If you don't know what to look for how would you know.

After saying that. Don't get me wrong I understand there are terrible things going on in the world. We are the cause of it. I don't blame GOD for anything going on. I know that he knows that this would happen. I know people have really hard lives out there, but don't try to say we have it worse than Christ did.

I want to move on to another touchy topic. I want to talk about suicide. It ties into my first one. No, I am not thinking about it in the least bit. There are people that really hurt themselves by doing different things. There are people that do take their lives. A lot of them just aren't that smart and just do a lot of damage to themselves. You know the human body is an amazing thing. It has the ability to get really sick from people abusing their bodies, but then can either fix itself or sometimes uses some help to get better. The reason I mention this...don't hold your breath and be surprised if you black out that you are still there. Also drinking amounts of alcohol at once is not bad, but you can also live after blacking out. Yes they could be classified as miracles, but it is the bodies design. GOD did not come down and smack you back to life. I understand that people try to commit suicide for many reasons, but it is not the way. Life sucks..some more than others, but it is up to each of us to make it better.

Ok, I'm done for the day. Take it as you want. It is my thoughts and opinions based on what I have studied.
