Ok all sit around and pull up a chair as I am going to teach you an important lesson. You know when you go to school, event, or meeting when they give you one of those "Hello my name is" stickers. Do not...I repeat do not keep it on when you leave the confinement of the room. Now that might be seem silly...but there is more to this tale. When wearing said tag do not...once again do not go up to a member of the opposite sex and start flirting with them. There you go another life lesson learned. No, it was not me wearing the tag. I don't ever put those silly things on.

I had two rather touching moments at work today. I had two patients cry on my shoulder as they gave me a hug. Which makes three for the week. No I was not mean to them. The first was a male that I have got to know over the past month plus. He speaks spanish...which means I did a lot of translation to staff. He told me today that he was going home for a little while and then coming back for treatments. He gave me a hug and a Thank You and let me know when he comes back he was going to bring me a bottle of wine. The second was a patient that went home a couple of weeks ago. I actually didn't know why she was in the hospital until today. Her brother was having liver failure. She had donated part of her liver to save him. They both had the same room and I took care of both of them. I was walking down the hall and she came up to me and asked if I remembered her. It takes me a moment to see people in regular clothes and then process that into what they look liked in their hospital beds. I said yes after a moment. She hugged me and started crying. She thanked me for spending time with them and getting to know them. It meant so much to her brother as he was unsure if he would make it. She said your good nature and humor helped him through a tough few weeks. It meant to her personally she went on to say that someone would take the time and talk to them. Of course this is about the time that I started to cry.

Working in the hospital is such an experience. I am thankful for Jen..to have her in my life. She has helped me through some happy and sad times working in the hospital. I don't think I mentioned that two patients that I was close to when I first started passed away last week. That makes a total of four with in the past few months that have passed away. All of them with such courage to know that it was time. It is really hard to see that look in their eyes. It really made my day to know that I have touched and helped someones life. On a happy note there was a lady that who was had to celebrate her 56th wedding anniversary in the hospital. So I got a special cake ordered and took it up to her. It was worth it to see the happiness on her face as she said, "Thank you! I didn't think I would have anything special about this year to remember."

Well have a great night.

Ebony and Ivory

  • 08/23/09 9:32 pm
Last night was the Ebony and Ivory Gala. It was at a place called La Caille. It is absolutely beautiful restaurant. At the entrance to it there are ponds on either side with swans and ducks swimming around. You drive up the cobble stone drive to the restaurant. There are pretty plants all along the way and there are peacocks running around as well as other birds.

There were people walking around passing out food and drinks. Neither Jen or I liked the champagne. The wine was good...it should be after I saw how much the bottles were. Jen and I walked around in the silent auction room. They had some really fun items. We won a wok that came with a cook book, clock, candle holder, and gift certificates. We also won a martini set.

We continued to enjoy the drinks and dancing with each other and people from my work. It was a really nice time. After we got done we went to this club with my brother and his friend. It is called the Triangle. It is a gay/lesbian club. It was a most interesting time. We danced with some really interesting people. They played the Time Warp from The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It has been a long time since I have heard or danced to that. It was cool though cause after Jen and I started doing the dance to it other joined in. My brother came up and told me careful or people will start to think you are gay. We all enjoyed a good laugh.

Well, that is all I have for now. Have a great day.

SatansGift666 : So long as you're safe about your drinking and lack of driving while intoxicated, it's all good by me. lol. sounds like you guys enjoyed yourselves though. that cheesecake... sounds... delicious????? whaatt. lol. that is really rather odd.
ToxicDesolation : Yes, I must admit kids are fucking annoying when the parents are ignoring them. Haha.

Well, yes, I think..well, I know I was thinking the same thing you and her were thinking about the weird cheesecake, haha.

It seems like a good time and I am glad that everyone got home safe and no one was driving after having all you can drink. Haha.
It is horrid because I am underage and many other reasons, but man, I have been fucking wanting vodka all fucking day, haha.
Lameee.

Night out

  • 08/22/09 5:23 pm

I don't know if I had mentioned to anyone, but last night Jen and I went to a get together for a friend from work. She is going on to do other things, so we had a get together.

We went to this place called the Bayou(spelling). I have never been there, but have heard of it. It is a restaurant and bar. The nice thing is that kids are not allowed. Nothing against kids, but they can be annoying sometimes when their parents/guardians are ignoring them.

They had some interesting items on the menu. Someone ordered an Alligator sausage cheesecake. I know what you are thinking...the same thing that I was thinking WTF???? 1 Why would you order it and 2 Who thought this would be a good idea. Ok, well maybe that is not what you are thinking but it was what Jen and I thought. What did we do...of course we tried it. It was interesting, but I don't think it will be on my wish list anytime soon.

The night turned into who could have the most to drink. I'm really not sure when it turned into that, but it happens. I think it was because there was guy that works with us named Braedon. He just turned 21 a week ago. Who is pretty fun to watch when he is drunk. Well, he actually acts the same as when he is sober except for the slur. He started buying shots for Jen and I. It was rather funny. When we left there we decided to go to this place called the Republican. We were looking for another co-worker who was supposed to be there, but was not.

Someone else decided to buy drinks to make us stay. We did make it home safely and without harm. No worries. We don't drink and drive.

I think that is all for now. Jen and I have the gala tonight. Have a good one!

doitslowly : Apparently, in Melbourne (a city in my country, Australia) we cant leave a car with its keys in the ignition, have the motor running or have the doors unlocked when the car is unattended.
pink_dreams : The best law is the one that i read we have around here it's illegal to eat ice-cream i think it was at a counter on Saturday. :P I wonder if the cop listens to those laws. GOod thing you and Jen are doing good
SatansGift666 : those are really some pretty ridiculous laws. And, I wonder as well if cops even know these laws or follow them. lol. I like how you put one about Chicago in thereee. =P It's not where I am. but, its close enough. bwahaha. I didnt even know that though.

I sayyy you enjoy your time with your woman and dont worry about posting or not. Seems like you got more time to be with her. =] so, make the best of it. Im sure she's thrilled as well. heh.

It is illegal to....

Wow kids it has been a long ass time since I have written anything. I have just been a busy bee. I don't know if you all remember a few years back there was this add that fed ex ran. It has a guy sitting in an office and he doesn't have anything to do, but he is always pretending to look busy. The whole add cracks me up, but at the end he picks up the phone and says Worky Work Busy Bee. Lol! You should check it out it's on Youtube search for Fedex overwhelmed.

Jen and I are good and have been spending a lot of time together. That is the main reason for the short absence. Tonight we went over to my co-worker and got haircuts. He does a great job, and if I need touch ups in between he does them no charge.

So we found this funny app on my ipod that has silly laws. Here are a few just for you... In California it is illegal to set a mousetrap without a hunting license. In Florida Sarasota it is illegal to sing while wearing a bathing suit...and to top it off In Chicago it is illegal to fish in one's pj's. There you have it so I want you all to obey the law. I know these are really hard, but there are so many more.

Take care

Entre el mar y una estrella

Well the allergies are more under control. It doesn't really help that there is a fire going on just west of me and it makes life annoying. Such is the life of living in Utah. I really don't mind the heat too much. We are supposed to have cool weather this weekend.

Next week some co-workers and I are going to the baseball game. I wish it was something bigger than AAA ball, but it will do. I have not been to a game in many years.

Jen has been sending me messages when she can. It can be hard to do so sometimes. I was listening to some of my music and I totally forgot about this song.

[Coro] [3x]
Entre el mar y una estrella
Seguirás estando al filo de mis venas
Te pondré algunas velas
Para preguntarle a Dios cuando regresas

Enjoy
