Gah! I had a nice entry started, and then Firefox crashed on me. Oh well. A lot has happened since last Thursday. Here goes! On Friday night, one of Sara's former coworkers was having a party, so we went there after work. It started at Kelly's. I had two drinks, and Sara had two beers and five shots. Needless to say, she was fairly drunk. Then, the party moved to The Stadium Club. We said hi to my parents who were in the next bar over, and then Sara sat in the bathroom for an hour talking to Ryan, one of our coworkers. She had to use my phone to say good night to him when her phone died. Then, she stole my phone to call Josh, the overnights guy whom I kinda like. He came all the way from East Moline to the middle of Davenport to join us for twenty minutes. We stayed out until about 2:30 that morning, which leads into Saturday. On Saturday, I had to work 7-3. I got only 3 hours of sleep that night, so of course I was exhausted. My manager sent me shopping to Lowe's to get some paint (for what, I don't know). Work went fairly well. Then, I went home and attempted to take a nap. Around 8 pm I went to one of my coworkers' house because she was having a going-away party. She quit working at Sam's so she could teach. I was the first person to get there. Other people straggled in, including Sara and Ryan around 10 pm. By this time, they were a couple. They are so cute together! Anyhow, I had a few beverages, and I just wasn't feeling too happy. Maybe I was jealous or something. Anyhow, Ryan noticed (!) and told Sara to go talk to me. So Sara pulled me aside and chatted with me for a while. That helped me feel better. (Referring to a previous entry: Sara and I have been through similar experiences, so she completely understands why sometimes I just feel down. She really helped me Saturday night). After that incident, cameras came out (everyone else was drunk) and we got some great pictures. I had water after the incident. I left around midnight or so. Sunday I had off. I finally got to get some sleep! I didn't do too much all day, but Josh texted me. He wanted to hang out, but neither of us had any idea what to do. I called Sara, and she suggested hanging out at a park. So, I called Josh and suggested Vander Veer. Josh and I meet up at VV, and walk around talking for about an hour and a half. I got to know him a lot better. Afterwards, he was starved so we went to Village Inn. We got some food. He stole one of my mozzerella sticks, but it just came out of the fryer, and I started laughing at him which got him laughing at me. It was kinda funny. Then, something slipped out of his mouth which he immediately regretted saying. I won't repeat it here, but I will say that it has me thinking. So Sunday night ended up being pretty cool. We talked about maybe meeting up Thursday, so we'll see what happens. Monday was Labor Day. I had to work 11-close (closing was 6). That was a pretty good day at work. Today was ok. I woke up with a cold, though. That kinda sucks. My throat's sore, and my nose is runny. Hopefully I get over it fairly quickly. I watched my sister play volleyball tonight. Today was also laundry day. I still have about two more loads to do. Tomorrow should hopefully be good. I have class in the morning, and then I work 4-close. I'll get to see Josh tomorrow night for a while when he comes in. Sara also closes with me, so we might have to go out for a beer afterwards. I really want to share with her my stories! I haven't talked to her since Saturday night, really. I guess I did for a little bit on Sunday, but that wasn't much at all, and it was before Josh. I guess I better let this go now. Kimberly
Classes started Monday. So far they seem like they'll be fairly good. We'll see as the semester goes on. I'm taking World Regional Geography, Cultural Anthropology, and Intro to Literature. I'm also taking Intro to Programming Logic online. All of my classes are MWF, so it's nice having TTh off. I talked with Julie for a while Monday night. It was so nice to catch up with her! I hadn't talked with her since she graduated. It's been way too long. And then, lo and behold, Dan calls me Tuesday night. We talked for a while and caught up. We hadn't talked in a long time either, but not nearly as long as it had been for Julie. And then Taryn called me yesterday afternoon. We didn't talk long, but it was still nice. It was great to catch up with people. Now I want to call Anne, Bonnie, and Shy among others. I'll get around to that hopefully by the end of next week. Work is work. Last night was dead. We were out of there shortly after 9, and I had all of my area completely done much earlier than usual. Sara and I go out a lot. We went out last night, and we go out just about every night that we close together. I don't think we're going out tonight, though. We'll make up for it Friday night. I think Friday night Sara wants to go to Harrington's (our cute little neighborhood bar that has a couple of cute bartenders) and enjoy a number of drinks. So, there's this guy that works overnights at Sam's. We see each other almost every night that I close. We've been chatting and whatnot. Last night, right before I go home, he gives me a piece of paper. He gave me his phone number. I have no clue what to do! Should I call him? He seems nice enough. He is geeky, though. He likes RPGs and gaming and music that I'm not too fond of. I'm trying to decide if I should call him. I checked out both his Facebook page and his MySpace page. In my opinion, he seems pretty decent from those. We'll see. I'm still questioning who I am. I've only had the one boyfriend, so I haven't had much experience at all. I just think that there are some women who are absolutely gorgeous. I don't feel comfortable talking to anyone about it. I only write in here about it. I need to do laundry soon. See, I shop so much that I can easily go two or three months without doing laundry. I have so much underwear and socks and jeans and shirts. I could easily go four or five months with just all of the shirts that I own! But I'm starting to get down to my last half-dozen pairs of undies, so it's about time. Looks like Tuesday might be the best day for that. I have the day off of work and class. Yeah. That's what I'll do Tuesday. Sara's been so great to talk to. Obviously we have a blast working together and having a beer together, but we talk a lot. She struggled with depression as well. It's amazing how much we have in common. Honestly, I think that Sara working at Sam's has been one of the best things to happen to me in a long time. Well, I should probably go now. I've typed out a really long entry. I do appreciate your responses, Kiera. Anne, I'll give you a call soon. Any other random responders, if I seem cool, subby. I try to post regularly. Kimberly
Sara and I went out tonight. Again. I have a lot of fun with her. It's nice to have someone my own age to hang out with and chat with. It's really helped me having her around. So, my dad's cousin died last week. The visitation was today, and the funeral tomorrow. I can't make either one, but I'll be at the luncheon afterwards tomorrow. He was kinda like an uncle to me, but we weren't super close. It's still shocking. He died from a splinter. That's right. A splinter. It got infected and he got blood poisoning. It's crazy. Tonight was the company picnic. I had fun. I talked with Jeremy (my manager) for a while. He's really a cool guy. I'm not ready for classes to begin tomorrow. Oh well. I don't have much of a choice. I found some sweet shoes at Dillard's the other day. I'm thinking about going back and getting them, even though I really don't need them. They're lime green wedges made by BCBGirl, and they were on sale for $42. Perky says it's a really good brand, and I'm thinking they're super cute. They were also super comfy. I really don't need another pair of shoes, especially heels, but I'm extremely tempted. I had a whole list of things to write, but now I can't think of anything else. Oh well. That's all for now.
I had the last three days off of work. It's been nice being lazy and doing whatever I want to. I'll be ready to get back to work, though. My sister moved back to college today. Her dorm room is really nice. I know she'll have a great time. I've been trying to talk to Taryn several times over the last two months, but she seems to keep forgetting about me or avoiding my calls. She wrote on Facebook that she'll call me tonight, but we'll see. I think that if she can't make an effort to return my calls, then she must not really want to be my friend any more. In good news, I have regained an old friend on Kiwibox. Welcome back, Kiera! It's so good to hear from you again!!! If you like, you can read some of my past entries to catch up on how I've been doing. Anne, do you still read this? You haven't updated yours in a long long time... Maybe I'll try giving you a call some night. Anyhow, that's all for now.
Work has been going well. It's been a little stressful the last few days as we've been so busy, but it's all good. I've been working with Sara a little bit more. I haven't gotten on a forklift yet, but that's coming. I can feel it. This weekend was actually really good for my social life. Sara and I closed on Friday, and we went out for a couple of drinks afterwards. We went to Harrington's, a little neighborhood bar near my house and her soon-to-be apartment. We had a couple of drinks, and had a cute bartender wait on us. Then, Saturday night, a whole bunch of Sam's people (Sara included) got together at Lucky's at the Steeplegate Inn. We had a lot of fun there! Tammi, her husband, and her three sons were there. Erin and her husband was there. Jake from produce was there, and he bought me my first drink. Amber and her friend Heather were there. Mary from Demos was there. It was a lot of fun, and we'll have to do that again. Tammi got drunk, and laughed a lot. We did some dancing (I know, me dance? what?) and had a good time. I'm all registered for my classes now, and I'll be picking up my books later today. I'm all set for school supplies, too. Now I just have to figure out where I hid my backpack. I need to find my good hairbrush, too. I misplaced that a while ago, and it's driving me insane! Anywho, it's all good. It's time for me to finish this now.
