Daniel Radcliffe is the newest name in Hollywood today. If you have never heard of him, then you better crawl out of your rock because he is the famous star who plays Harry Potter in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. At only age 12 he's already a huge movie star and will continue his stardom in the sequel of The Sorcerer's Stone.

The director, Chris Columbus, made it important that an unknown actor plays Harry Potter. However, Radcliffe isn't a complete newcomer, starring in one TV movie and one big screen movie. Maybe because of his small amount of experience is the reason why his performance in Harry Potter was so good. I immediately loved him as Harry Potter because he acted so real; it seemed as if he was the actual character in the series. He also easily acted like a normal person, not some million-dollar actor that's had hundreds of acting lessons. Radcliffe got his start on the BBC America's television movie of David Copperfield. There he starred with his future co-stars of Harry Potter, Dame Maggie Smith and Zoe Wanamaker in December 1999. Next he made his big screen debut in The Tailor of Panama as Jamie Lee Curtis and Geoffrey Rush's son in 2001.

I live in England and every1 auditioned 4 the film. None of the
kids can act though....to many cheesy grins, eurgh!! Emma Watson
is also really stuck up, I've met her since HP.

It's the "Philosopher's Stone" in England. I don't know about you,
but I'm in America, and here it's the "Sorceror's" stone. Heck, if
I was where it was called the philosopher's stone, I would have
auditioned for Hermione!

I was so against the movie until a friend dragged me to see it. I
fell in love with it in a second, and instantly asked for the
books this Christmas. I've only read the first two, and seen the
movie twice, but I LOVE IT! And Daniel was such a good casting
choice. Awesome. ^_^

think that the older actors/actress's played their parts much

Chris Columbus wanted Daniel Radcliffe and his supervisor or
someone said he had no chance getting this kid because his parents
were actors (or something) and wouldnt agree.. He thought about
giving the parents a roll, but the parents let Daniel do the
movie..

goto his head sometime..

Im totally in LOVE with Harry Potter.. I collect HP things, and I
love the movie. I cant wait until it comes out on DVD. I will be
watching it everyday of my life.. :)

Awwwww that harry potter kid was cute! He was a good actor too,
considering he had little experience! We have a couple kids at out
school who look like harry potter! its funny......anywayz the
movie was amazing, I think they did the set ups......or scenes
what ever u want to call them, exactly how I imagined them! And
the the lead guy on harry's quaditch team..sorry cant spell it!!
was hot!!!!!! haha

harry is a sweetheart, ron is gorgeous, oliver is okay in a
somewhat gay way, but i have to admit my favourite is that sexy,
misunderstood guy snape with his gorgeous greasy black hair...

that article was funny GirLInTTerUptEd it seems as if though the
person who wrote it was holding a grudge for someone! lolies! that
was FUNNY!!! That person was obviously angry. and what is that
"avarage school boy" stuff! that's just nonesense just cause he's
been in a TV movie doesn't mean anything.. gosh... so what if he
had a bit of experience if he's perfect for the part, then he's
just perfect and that's the only reason he got the part.

i think dan is so cute! sure, i'm 5 years older, but he's still
cute. in that "oh my god he is so adorable" way. hehe. now sean
biggerstaff is hot. lol. i think dan did an awesome job as harry,
i couldn't think of anyone else ever who would be able to play the
part better. and i've seen the movie 6 times i like it so much.
the book is better tho, but it always is. lol.

the part. It starts like this: Many people claim, as has J.K.

Dude I love Daniel Radcliffe. He's just... Great. I agree with
this article. But there is one thing, bkg_gal is right, he did
not get the part because of his mom. His parents actually did not
want him to do it, and he had to convince them to let him. He got
the part because JK Rowling thought he was perfect for it.
Anywho, I'm really glad you did an article on him coz I love him
so much ^_^ AYAI he's such a cutie, I'm gonna marry him. He may
be 2 years younger than me, but HEY... I'm still gonna marry him.

one more thingie... this past Halloween this dude came
trick-or-treating with us and he looked alot like Danny from what
I could remeber! I only saw him that one time, but I wanna see him

all the people he worked with on previouse movies recomended him
for the part! and Jamie Lee Curtis even told him HE should be
Harry Potter

personally, it kinda seems like he's the actual harry potter if
harry ever existed! he was even born in the same month!

he did not get the part because of his mother! true.. she is a
casting agent but she would never do that! she didn't even DO the
casting for the movie! His mom and dad were WORRIED about him
doing the role! they did not want him to do it. They even told him
not to gets his hopes up when he went for the autition because
THOUSANDS of kids were trying out too... actually, he got the part
because of JK Rowling... she thought he was perfect for it...

ps: I know so much cause I'm quite obsessed with him.

wow! i do think that becouse of his lack of expirence made it all
the more real. it was realli important for harry potter to be
real, so i think they made the right choice in choosing him! he
did a great job!! i hope one day i can have a big role like that!
probly never as big as harry potter, but maybe due to my lack of
expirence will help me be more real :)

Wow I didn't know he got the part because of his mom! I never knew
he was on the DC show! I never noticed it was him. I moved here
from Glasgow, Scotland. My brother looks like Harry Potter hehe.
Anyways I thought he played the part well and I think the director
had a great idea picking unknowns because they just made it
better. I think because sometimes w/ BIG movies stars..you see
them as sooo many charaters. Like since we didn't know these kids
they really were HARRY and RON and HERMIONE to us. Get what I'm
trying to say? But ya it's good the fame hasn't gone to his head.
I saw him on TRL and he was sooo humble and shy! Go him! LOL

I wouldn't call him an inspiration or a role model. He did do a
good job in the movie but the truth is that he only got the part
because of his mother. Well, that's all I wanted to say. Hopefully
his mummy doesn't take away anymore roles from some kid that could
have made it big.
