It seems that solo careers for group memebers are all the rage these days, and Ben Folds is no exception. Most people aren't familiar with his name, or at least haven't heard it since the break up of Ben Folds Five in 2001. Compareable to Five For Fighting in many aspects, Folds showcases his talent and style in his most recent single, Still Fighting It. With so much promise Ben Folds will certainly find his way into everyone's vocabulary.
Although Folds mostly spends his time jamming tunes on the piano, he's also an acomplished bass, guitar, and drum player. All these talents come out on his recently released solo album, Rockin' The Suburbs. Starting off with the ever sobering truth about growing up, "Still Fighting It" displays a side of Folds perviously not seen. Although the lyrics in "Still Fighting It" are deep, his other songs live up to his joking personality. As in his song "Rockin' The Suburbs," where he says, "Y'all don't know what it's like/being male, middle class and white." Most definetly not made for conservative adults.
