The Life Threatening Disorder

How does an average girl or boy describe anorexia? Its a girl who is concerned about her weight and not eating in order to control it, right? That is part of it, but there is so much more.

It's latin name, "anorexia nervosa, means 'the nervous want of appetite'." I believe this statement means, a person wants to eat, but is too nervous to find themselves eating. Many people also believe that anorexia is a girl's disorder, but 1 out of 10 people with anorexia is a male.

What is anorexia? "Anorexia is when a person eats so little that their weight drops at least 15% below normal body weight." Sometimes the person may not begin the disorder with anorexia, they may begin with another disorder called bulimia which is when a person eats a HUGE amount of food and then purges- which is defined as vomiting, or ridding your body of calories in a number of other ways.

People with the disorder may be become obsessive of food. They will refuse to eat in front of anybody, or even alone. Also, they may cook for other people and will not eat it themselves. "Often the refusal to eat is paired with strict exercise regimens." 1 in 10 people with anorexia will die. This disease is so serious that most people end up in the hospital because they are so incredibly exhausted and thin that they have lost their immune systems, and any fat on their bodies.

um yeah. This is probably plagarized with bad pics to go along
with it.

I was looking forward to something I could actually be
thought-provoked by in a positive way. And I've been through
anorexia.

Tell us something we DON'T already know. If I had the time, I
could write an article on eating disorders 100 times better, even
with my own experience on the matter. I think I might just do
that.
This is the worst "article" I have ever read.
I'm confused why half of this information is taken from somewhere
else? If I can read it elsewhere why is it here?
