Chocolate Toffee Crunch Bars
Ingredients:
For the Cookie Layer
2 cups crushed vanilla wafers.
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/3 cup butter, melted
For the Toffee Layer
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
For the Chocolate Layer
6 oz chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Method:
1. Combine cookie crumbs and brown sugar. Next, stir in the butter. Then, press into a 13 x 19" pan. Bake at 350 degrees for eight minutes.
2. Once the cookie base is done, you can create the toffee layer. Using a saucepan, combine butter and brown sugar. Stir until boiling. Boil one minute, then pour immediately over cookie base.
3. Bake these two combined layers at 350 degrees for ten minutes. Let stand for two minutes.
4. To create the chocolate coating, first sprinkle chocolate chips on top of the toffee layer. Let the chips stand until shiny and soft, then spread the chocolate around. Next, sprinkle nuts on top. Chill before cutting.
