To the average individual, the combination of knowledge, confidence, and nerves is the hallmark of success. Still, the thought of studying just for the heck of it seems to be on the decline. Cases of individuals who go to school not just to learn but also to obtain knowledge are a bit rare but still, they exist.

Being able to study is undeniably a privilege that one must be thankful for because not everybody is granted with this gift. That is why we should realize the essence of schooling and the essence of involving college life is not just to have our regular allowance, nor to be with our peers, but to learn and prosper.

When we go to college, it is the same as if we were to go to battle. It needs preparation, and now is the right time to prepare. College is not just to graduate but to have a career after it. Getting just a passing grade isn't enough. Be at the top and you will find it easier to find a nice job.

I think the problem that most students have is not that they don't
aim high enough, but that they don't have any motivation to
succeed. I think too many kids know that they are going to
college after high school, but don't really have a particular
major or career in mind. I think that for some students, just
getting to college and finding their way from there is fine, but
others need a reason to be there.

It's hard to choose a career, and even more difficult to choose a
major when you don't even know which direction you want to take.
Some people want to be the best that they can be, so aiming high
is natural and they wouldn't settle for anything less. And on the
other hand, some people really need to see that obtainable goal in
order to reach towards it.

I also think that kids need to be encouraged to pursue their
passion, regardless of their abilities. All throughout school we
were encouraged to pursue what we're good at. Well that's
obvious, right? It's much easier to study topics that come
naturally and to eventually work in a career that you can excel
at. But if your passion is helping people and you want to be a
nurse, but were never particularly good in science, well why not
try to achieve that?

I think that too many teachers group students into categories
within the first week or two of meeting them. They decide that
this C average, for example is going to stay a C average and thus
should only be enouraged to pursue a trade and not a college
degree. IMO that is wrong.

I still believe that you can be anything that you want to be.
Maybe if children were motivated more as youngsters and shown what
they could do, they would be more willing to make an effort.
