Since I first began to visit the sex board on Kiwibox, I have been surprised to discover that many young women are not receiving the proper sex education either at home or at school, and are instead relying on equally uninformed peers for their knowledge. This has led to many personal experiences (in most cases, luck) being relied upon as truth. Many girls continue to become pregnant or contract STDs on a daily basis simply because there are myths circulating that are taken as truths. Here, I will uncover some of the most common myths about sex, and hopefully will help someone along the way.
Pregnancy Myths
"He didn't cum in me, so I can't get pregnant"
This is completely untrue. An aroused man unwillingly will release something called pre-ejaculate, or pre-cum, which contains several sperm that are just as alive and active as the other semen in his body. These can easily get you pregnant.
"I'm on my period, so it's safe"
Nope, it's not. Your chances of getting pregnant depend on when you ovulate. However, you do not always, if ever, know for sure when you are ovulating. It is highly possible to ovulate during a period. Your menstrual cycle will probably not be completely regular for the first several years, if ever.
