How to Handle the Holiday Blues

Written by: Jordan G., Reporter – Posted: Sun Dec 10th, 2006

Your report card is handed to you by a mother who is shaking her head; you failed two classes. Your boyfriend just called you and told you he wants to break up so he can date your best friend. Try-outs for the dance team didn't go as you had planned, the list was up but your name wasn't on it. Your grandmother died a month ago and your parents are now getting a divorce because of money isues. You seem to be prone to tragedy and because of this things might seem as though they won't get better.

With the holiday season in full swing problems have begun to arise, not only in adults; credit card debt, etc., but in teens as well. Where can they turn to when everywhere they look there's another headache?

WOWWW that SO didn't help.
believe it or not..saying your problems outloud and saying all
your thoughts out loud really do help..yes the problems are still
there (obviously) but you actually feel a little bit better about
them...dont say this was a completely ridiculous sucky article
until you have actually tried out what the author said

I agree with Vintage and Selina... This was a waste of my time
and the author's.
i just found outt that my boyfriend of almost a year cheated on me
(made out w some random girl) a few months ago. he never told
me.
what do i do now

can someone please help me?
Nice waste of 7 minutes
I really have to agree with DanceChic12. There is SO much more to
beating the "holiday blues" then this. If you are going to write
an article on such a topic, I think it would help to do some
research. Also, proofreading can go a long way. This article
sounds like it was compiled in 2 minutes.
I want to be the first one to point out that this writer was
trying to help you out here. SO WHAT IF THERE ARE SOME TYPOS AND
GRAMMAR ERRORS! I thank the author, Jordan G., for trying to help
get us all out of the holiday slump.
And of course, like an idiot, I wrote proofreading as two words.
So I'm pointing that out before someone else jumps down my throat
for it.
Okay, this article pisses me off. Seriously, how is this article
supposed to have any credibility? Who read over this and decided
to publish it? It starts decently, but it's barely two pages
(it's really only four paragraphs, which is closer to one page)
and it gives no actual advice. Telling someone to just get over
it and feel better doesn't deserve an entire article and also
doesn't deserve to go on the front page on Kiwibox. Has this
website really gone that downhill?

The grammar is terrible: "No, that doesn't mean your "crazy"" --
it should be "you're" not "your". I mean, really, possessive
versus contraction isn't that difficult. Plus there should be a
semi-colon after the word "crazy", not a comma. There are
actually several places where it should be a semi-colon, not a
comma. It's called proof reading.
Yes, I so agree w dandce! You have NO idea how bad it has been!!
the holiday blues do not go away just because you talked to
yourself in the mirror. when you wake up the next morning they are
still there and arn't any better dispite what you told yourself. i
really don't think that the athor of this has ever had the holiday
blues or any really big life blues or they would not be giving
such crap advice.
