With the holiday shopping season in full swing, it's damn-near impossible to compare and contrast between the plethora of systems available. Microsoft's Xbox 360 has been out for over a year, and has shown major growth since its launch. Not to be outdone, Sony delayed the release of their Playstation 3 well past its street date, punching up its specs and hype equally. And then there is Nintendo, always known for its cutting-edge (and risky) entries into the console world, offering up their most revolutionary system yet: Wii.

So many systems, so little time--and money. While each system has its perks, most people will not be able to afford all three (let alone games, extra controllers, etc.) without jeopardizing things like food, rent, car payments and so on. We here at Kiwibox empathize with your console shopping woes, so we have compiled an easily-understood (no tech-talk!) guide to which system best suits your needs--or at the very least your budget's needs.

My take: In terms of personal gaming, I'd say that the 360 is the
best RIGHT NOW. I'd agree that PS3 could easily steal that spot
in the near future, what with Sony spending so much money on a
proprietary Nvidia chip, and all.

The 360 might also win in terms of online gaming with XBox Live,
but in terms of in-person multiplayer gaming, Wii wins hands down.
While it doesn't have quite the graphical power of the other two,
or the amount of action games, as mentioned, this is not what
Nintendo's about. It's about bringing the fun back to consoles,
and let me tell you, the Wii is fun.

I have friends that have never touched a console before, but have
a blast with games like Raving Rabbids or Mario Kart Wii. My mom
even plays it! And as developers come up with new innovative
ideas on how to use the Wii's motion sensing capabilities in new
ways, the Wii can only get better.

Also, Super Mario Galaxy gives Twilight Princess a run for its
money.

Playstation 3, my boyfriend has one and it's really awesome!

monkeyballs11 - - I could afford the PS3 and I had access to
getting one, however I still choose the Wii.... Graphics aren't my
major concern, and that is the only thing the PS3 has to offer.

Sony did the same thing with the PS2, they over-hype it, and then
gee, they conveniently are out of supply constantly.

At least Nintendo replenishes their stock at stores.

I don't support Sony, their hype (which is sadly inflated) or
their pricing. To ask that much for a system, knowing darn well
some snotty 10 year old is going to be a throwing a fit christmas
morning after his parents had to take out a loan for one gift is
disgusting. And that's assuming they could even get one, which
unless they camped out for two days, or happened to stroll passed
two lone, hidden boxes at a uh... major electronics store.. Then
they'll have one majorly disappointed snotty 10 year old because
'everyone has one...'

damn all of you that don't aggree are stupid i would go witht the
wii cause you accually do something instead of sitting on your
butt all day using just your fingers witch with the wii you use
your arms too!!!! holla

The wii is great, most unique and best bang for the buck. Then
secondly I would vote for the Xbox 360, just got one and it's
great! And there's a lot more downloadable content right now since
the other two just started their online offerings...

It has the bast old and new games. U can download old games and
play new games all in 1. Even the grown-ups want 2 play it. It is
also the cheapest 1 out of the 3 new systems.

PS3 is nothing but being a graphics whore.

XBOX 360 is not really living up to much. It's more like just the
Xbox but a few more games

and the Ninteno Wii is doing something new and interesting.

Booyah! Nintentdo love!! Hahahahaha.

I'd also like to point out that the Wii is cheaper than the XBOX
360 and the PS3. :P

Yeah old school Nintendo is awesome! Stuff is too complex these
days; kids need to be exposed to some classic pixelated Mario, or
they just won't grow up right. Haha.

I think I'd rather have a PS3, seeing as how it's sleeker and has
a nice little controller rather than one that's like a T.V.
remote. PS3 has better games than Wii does, too. Nintendo seems to
stay a little childish, and that stinks, even though I am a die
hard Nintendo fan. So, it's weird.

instead.Plus I love the Zelda games and I'm anxious to try the new
one out.

I'm with Susan on this one. My husband had already pre-ordered the
Wii before our wedding, so it was a "Merry Christmas to us"
present. I think it's a lot more fun to play together than any of
the other systems would be. Twilight Princess is an amazing game
and we've both really enjoyed it.

I was one of the lucky ones who got a Wii on release date. It is
by far the best system I have ever played. Before Wii, I played
video games less than once a week. Now I'm boxing, bowling,
playing tennis daily. These games (especially boxing) are really
a workout. I think this is going to be really good for all the
poor kids (and adults) who are overweight these days. Wii is
definitely a step in the right direction.

Also for Wii, Raymond Raving Rabbids is incredibly addicting! I
suggest everyone with a Wii buy this game, it's hilarious and
extremely fun!

alright i work with these systems heres my unbiased opinion.

xbox360:
this took awhile to get into this system but now its kicking sonys
ribs in. at the moment it carries most of sony's ps3 launch titles
accept for resistance...and gears of war dominates it hands down.
the system tho $300 - $400 (either way if u get the harddrive itll
be $400) anyhow its worth every penny now. it still has its
downfalls on backwards compatability but with live u can d/l the
games emulators n play it so it all benefits.the most action
packed system yet.

wii:
nintendo's pride and joy. its not the most "graphically" amazing
system but its interactive quality makes up for it. who wouldnt
want to actually slash their swords or aim down their gun's
sights? every1 wants to. it brings a sense of realism into the
gaming lifestyle with this system + it is completely backwards
compatable. this system, cheapest of the next gens at $250 is by
far the most interactive and fun.

ps3:
sadly dubbed the worst launch in history, sony got shot down on
this one. so far they have lied to great extents to oversell the
first shipment.first of all its not at all backwards compatable
yet, the processor sounds like a jet engine and sucks every hair n
spec of dust in the area into ur system, the integrity of its
insides is terrible!(it will overheat after 3 consecutive hours of
play,doing so also voids the warranty[read the manuals fine
print]) all this system has going for it atm is its graphics. sony
should be able to deliver a full promise near summertime. but
until then going with one of the other sytems is your best bet.

also.

nintendo and xbox have teamed up to put sony out trading titles.

conclusion:
wii is definately worth it.(multi genred gaming)
xbox360 is amazing.(mainly action ,fps, and horrorsurvival)
ps3 is terrible atm. (stay tuned.)

I've got a Wii and I love it because it makes you move. I never
got into the games (except for classic NES) because sitting
around isn't the healthiest of options.

I see the PS3 and play it at work (best buy) but I personally can
better spend $600. The Wii was $250 and the one game my husband
bought was on sale when it was released, so for under $300 it was
a 'merry christmas' to us gift :-)

I've never played or had an interest in xbox so I've got nothing
to say :-)
