Winter Tanning Without the Salon

Sunless tanners provide glow without the worry of cancer

Ah, January. While Australians are basking in the summer sun, most in the United States are shivering. New York is facing its coldest snap yet, while Denver is still buried under several feet of snow. Even areas of Texas are seeing freezing temperatures. A suntan is simply out of the question.

Despite the winter onset, many people - both guys and girls - try to keep their summer glow. Often, this involves tanning beds at salons. But, with skin cancer linked to the UV radiation from tanning beds - and the disease reaching epic proportions - it's time to look at other options.

Enter the world of sunless tanning.

I have never been in a tanning bed and that will never change.
I'd rather be pale than orange and wrinkled at the age of 30.

I live for Jergens Natural Glow and Cover Girl bronzer <3
yea these products do work and don't leave you so orange
looking..but the downfall is that they do leave a weird scent on
your skin after using them. it's ok the first few days but after a
week or so it's kind of gross.. but other than that they do work
I meant without protection
They're actually saying that young teenage girls don't understand
the huge risks with indoor tanning. Most believe that it's safer
for your skin, but it's not. It's actually worse. 20 minutes in a
tanning bed is as harmful as 3 hours outside with protection.
I have worked at an indoor tanning salon for the past two years
and have attended some of the national tanning conventions. It is
not any more harmful too you than going outside. It is actually
more harmful to your skin to tan out doors unsupervised than it is
to safely and moderately build your tan indoors. Especially if you
use high pressure beds with are practically only UVA than low
pressure beds which contain equal amounts of UVA and UVB. Yes,
tanning increases your risk of skin cancer but it also lower your
risk of many other cancers by a significant amount.
Sorry but people who are tan in the winter look stupid. Everyone
else is pale and they are brown. Yeah it kinda stands out.
I was born white, i'll remain that way thanks.
I like the lotions that gradually give you some color. It doesn't
look orange-y but it can smell kind of weird after you put it on.
Thats the only downfall. I also like the Bath & Body Works, I just
don't recommend getting the Romance scent..it is not pleasant.
I'm pale as snow and loving it. :]
i really clinique sunless tanner for the face and body it doesnt
turn you orange and it looks so natural and beautiful and it is
not that expensive 15 dollars for the body and 15 for the face but
it is totally worth it trust me !!!
I found a good product at my spa. I too turned orange from all of
the products mentioned in this article. It is called image skin
products body bronzer I found it in my spa so I don't know if
anyone will be able to find it but if you can it works really well
and makes you bronze...not orange
thanks izzi_
Bath & Body Works.

Gradual Self-Tanner in the Breathe line... I suggest Citrus
Watermint

that is all
every single sunless tanner i have tried (which has been quite a
lot of different ones) has turned me SUPER orange and they smell
funky too! I am really fair skinned so I have to do something so
I don't get burned so I usually just go to a tanning salan cuz
those dont make me orange. anyone know of any really good tanners
that don't make you look ridiculous!?
If you get burned once, the risk of cancer is much higher than if
you'd been to 10 sessions in a tanning bed. So if you're fair
skinned, and you know you're going away to a tropical vacation and
you know you'll get burnt within the first 1-2 days (if you're
like everybody else), then it's actually beneficial to go tanning
in a salon to get your skin accustomed to the UV rays without the
damaging IR rays (which cause the burn)... so you won't get very
burnt when you actually hit the sun.

My friend went to a spray-on tanning place and came back orange.
These products look tempting.. but not enough to go to school
looking like and oompa loompa *sp?*. I have used Jergens "Natural"
Glow Moisturizer and yes, it did indeed make my skin orange. I'm
not fair skinned... I tend to think I tan fairly easy in the
summer... so why do I always turn orange? Any good products??
Thanks!
Im not a fan of sunless tanning....I like to go to the spray on
tanner once in a which but it only lasts like 4 days then I get
all blochy (sp?) and look like I have a disease....and cost too
much....I'll stick with the tanner.
