When Electronic Arts released the first Sims game in 2000, teens all over the globe swarmed to the closest games store to get themselves a copy. A similar commotion occurred when the sequel Sims 2 was introduced in 2004. Over the span of almost a decade, a number of expansion packs have been released for both games, including other Sims game for platforms other than the PC. Soon, in February 2007, EA Games will be introducing another generation of Sims, this time with even more enticing features, named The Sims Stories. EA Games will be targeting today's technologically active teens, particularly laptop users, with their new game. The main focus of The Sims Stories will be its laptop-friendly features, with controls designed for laptops and promoting the ability to play the game with separate windows allowing the player to continue IM and chats with friends. Also, it will not require the presence of video cards, which are now a must for today's PC gaming. On top of that, the game is equipped with an auto-pause function for when the player closes the lid of the laptop. Thus allowing gameplay on the move, and even though it's designed for laptops, it is also adaptable to normal desktop computers.
