2007 Oscar Predictions

Kiwibox's Red Carpet Picks

The 2007 Oscar nominees are a welcome mix of indie darlings and mainstream heavy-hitters, both of which are bound to give the Academy something to think about as they place their votes in the coming weeks.

This year has proven to be quite a mix-up, with smart, dark comedies (Little Miss Sunshine) balancing out intense dramas (The Departed, Babel) and the return of the musical (Dreamgirls) reminding us that Oscar worthy movies can be fun sometimes!

This year's pool of potential winners is rather shallow, but that's not to say there isn't a good amount of surprise appearances and serial win-less nominees. Will it finally be Martin Scorsese's year?

OOPS that was supposed to be published by me, not emagner. We,
the editors, regret this error and pledge to be more diligent in
the future.
I haven't watched any of these movie, unfortunatly.
I have not seen any of these movies. But I do want to watch Little
Miss Sunshine, that one looks good.
I really wish Little Miss Sunshine would do a total sweep at the
awards, but they won't. Jennifer Hudson will probably will in
that category against Breslin.

The Devil Wears Prada was obviously not Oscar material, but
Streeps performance most definitely was. I hope she wins.
Really voting for Helen Mirren here! She deserves to win. She
doesn't just play the queen, she is the queen.
I am SUPER excited that Ryan Gosling was nominated. WOW. =)
i can't believe Dreamgirls didn't get nominated for best picture.
how can that movie have the most nominations of any movie, but not
get nominated for best picture? makes no sense to me...
I don't agree with all of the nominees, but then again I have to
remember that I haven't seen all the movies that are up for
nominations so i can't really judge. For instance, I heard Forest
Whitaker did a really good job in that king of scotland movie and
helen mirren did good in The Queen. That being said, I really am
happy for Will and Jennifer cuz I saw their movies and they were
good!
