Yes, we should be treated as equal partners in the relationship. However, the man opening the door, pulling out your chair, and at least offering to pay the check are still acts that any stand-up guy should perform. Chivalry doesn't have to die with the Middle Ages!
2) You should be first in his life. If he's making a commitment to you, you should expect to be put in front of others. You shouldn't expect to have him ditch his friends for you all the time, but if there's something important going on in your life, he should be willing to give up his time to share that with you.
