Dating Advice From My Mother

Unfortunately, she's always right!

As I've grown older, I've learned one fact that I hate to admit is true: My mother is always right. This especially applies to the dating advice she's given me. So I'm here to pass on her tips and tricks about love that she's passed on to me!

1) Even though we are in an age of empowering woman, some things are still the man's job. Yes, we should be treated as equal partners in the relationship. However, the man opening the door, pulling out your chair, and at least offering to pay the check are still acts that any stand-up guy should perform. Chivalry doesn't have to die with the Middle Ages!

2) You should be first in his life. If he's making a commitment to you, you should expect to be put in front of others. You shouldn't expect to have him ditch his friends for you all the time, but if there's something important going on in your life, he should be willing to give up his time to share that with you.

number eights funny but so true. Yeah its nice for the guy to
offer to pay, but I like to treat my fiance to a surprise meal as
well. Pulling out the chairs and opening doors is really sweet.
Great article

nice article
nice article! I completely agree!
He SHOULD offer to pay--there's no reason not to. You should
insist to split or pay for both of you, but just like you would
always offer to pay, so should he. He shouldn't expect an
automatic free meal just because woman like to be independent.
i like this but i have to say i don't want a guy to always offer
to pay, i have never seen the reason in that rule. if we both
work and we both agreed to go out then we should both pay.
i wouldn't call myself a feminist but any guy who takes time out
of my day to make me wait for him to pull my chair out is a guy i
do not awnt to be involved with.
I love number 8 too. So many of them are true, I dont even want to
admit it lol.
These are great -- I agree, this is a fantastic article. Number 8
made me laugh too, but it's completely true!
time honored truths...this is a great article! These are things
people really need to pay attention to so they don't wonder why
there in such bad relationships
i liked this..number eight made me laugh
