Kiwibox Predictions

Wondering who will take home the bulk of the Grammys on Sunday, February 11th? Kiwibox is here to run-down the nominees and predict who the year's biggest successes were.

And if the decidedly underwhelming list of this year's nominees doesn't convince you to tune into the 49th Annual Grammy Awards, maybe The Police reunion will. The five time Grammy award winning group is set to open the show after their messy 1984 break-up. Also reported to perform is Justin Timberlake, who had such a banner year in '06 that his momentum in '07 hasn't wavered in the slightest.

Tune in this weekend and expect to see larger-than-life performances, big wins and even bigger upsets.

Record of the Year

"Be Without You," Mary J. Blige
"You're Beautiful," James Blunt
"Not Ready to Make Nice," Dixie Chicks
"Crazy," Gnarls Barkley
"Put Your Records On," Corinne Bailey Rae

With both "SexyBack" and "My Love" mysteriously omitted--and "Crazy" losing its chic-appeal by the minute--Mary J. Blige has the upper-hand in this category. With the most nominations out of anyone this year (8 in total), she's due for a big win. Let's just give this one to her and call it a day.

go mary 1st grammy EVER...! its about time :)
i got bored watching it last night..
the grammy was wack..
Did Christina win best female pop vocal performance?? I didn't
see it. And it doesn't say on the list of winners. What the
hell???
I'll agree with allisfulloflove lol
I believe that Christina Aguilera will indeed win Female Pop Vocal
Performance and Pop Vocal Album. In my humble opinion, her voice
is unmatched and "Back to Basics" is an amazing album.
and i agree with meggiesue14. john mayer is going to win at least
win one grammy. most likely pop album. therefore this article
sucks.
if james blunt wins male pop vocal, i will kill myself.
who ever wrote this. umm no, and some1 tell me why Justin isnt
under r&b.... hes not comercial pop DUH and Chris Brown he def
should have been up for more awards... Mariah carey "dont 4get
about us" is soooo not this year. Mary never wins anything NOT
FAIR... and all the other stuff NO WORDS. these awards r DEF not
based off of record sales or radio play !!
Never underestimate the power of the Chicks. "Not ready to make
nice" was huge, plus their documentary.

And I could see anyone of those male artists winning really.
Urban's "Once In a Lifetime" really wasn't that great. Just my
opinions :)
There is no doubt that Mary J. Blige will win alot of awards that
night. I do not think that Beyonce will win any. Her only big
hit was Irreplacable which unfortunitely I like.
I do think Justin Timberlake will win album of the year...he's had
a huge year and 2007 will be even bigger.
And I know Christina will win her two awards...least she better.
I'm annoyed she wasn't nominated for more...she HAS the VOICE
And there is no doubt Carrie Underwood won't go home empty handed.
i personally wouldn't categorize gnarls barkley as an alternative
artist. not to mention alongside the artic monkeys, the flaming
lips or the yeah yeah yeahs.. theyre completely different genres
imo.
john mayer needs to win waiting on the world to change, and if the
fray doesn't win for over my head (cable car) i'll flip a shitttt.
keith is sooo hot and i want him to win . rascal flatts should
also win because they are like really good. and besides carrie
underwood needs to share the awards and let others win for once.
GO RASCAL FLATTS!!! And JOSH TURNER!!! they are amazing!!
I said that I am one of the biggest Keith Urban fans on the web.
That was a typo, I really meant to say I am one of his biggest
fans on this website. LOL sorry!
Okay, so I agree with some of these picks, but not all. Here's MY
picks:
Album of the Year: Justin Timberlake. He kicks butt. Enough said.
New Artist: Carrie will most likely win, and as much as I like her
(which is A LOT) I am pulling for Chris Brown. He's sooo talented!
And Carrie's gotten so many awards already. Let Chris win this
one!
Female Pop Performance: Everyone thinks Christina should win this
one. And as much as I love her, I love P!nk more (see username!)
and Stupid Girls was a piece of artwork. Seriously, she doesn't
get as much respect as she deserves, which is a lot. So you all
know who I'm pulling for there.
Male Pop Performance: JAMES BLUNT SHOULD NOT WIN THIS CATAGORY, or
anything, for that matter. He's got zero talent. This one should
go to John Mayer.
Pop Duo or Group Performance: I think the Black Eyed Peas and
Pussycat Dolls have the upper hand on this one, but The Fray is
extraordinary. They have the most talent, they should win.
Best Pop Album: This one is a draw between Christina and Justin.
May the best artist win.
Best Rock Duo or Group Performance: The Fray. Again. They just
HAVE to win this one. My Grey's Anatomy band is one of the best
around.
Female R&B Performance: Beyonce should win this one, too. Ring the
Alarm was excellent.
Rape Performance by Duo or Group: This one should go to
Chamillionare. I know not everyone lives here, but this song is SO
POPULAR here, it's not even funny.
Rap Album: Ludacris should win this one.
Female Country Performance:
Carrie Underwood will win.
Miranda Lambert SHOULD win.
Enough said.
Male Country Performance: I can see Dierks Bentley or Josh Turner
taking this one, but I am one of the biggest Keith Urban fans on
the web, so this one goes to him in my opinion.
Best country Duo or Group Performance: Two words: Rascal Flatts.
Country Album: I think Little Big Town could get this one.
So I think that Keith Urban should have got more nods, and same
with P!nk. Yeah. Sorry I wrote a book, yall!
i just want justin and christina to win and i'll be happy!
Okay, not one of these predictions was John Mayer. Absolutely
heinous. He's up for five and I say he's taking them all.

<3
it was really clever. plus i'm rooting all the way for corinne
bailey rae--she's got such a refreshing sound.
