Crochet your own winter scarf

Handmade scarves are gorgeous and stylish--but buying them from a boutique can cost you between $30 and $100 dollars. You can make your own scarf in your choice of colors for less than $15 and a single afternoon.

What You'll Need:

1 Crochet Hook. These are available at craft stores and locations such as Wal-mart, and they cost about $2 for a single hook or about $6-$10 for a set. There are different sizes, but you'll want a hook between size F and size H. I use a size "G" here.

2 Skeins of Yarn. I use Red Heart and Lion Brand, but any 2-ply yarn will work great. One eight-ounce skein should cost between $2-$5.

1 Yarn Needle. (Not pictured, optional) Yarn needles are also available at any craft store. They looks like a giant, plastic sewing needles. Yarn needles are usually under $1, or included in crochet needle sets.

It's call CROCHET and you crochet with only ONE needle.

I've done it for a while and my grandmother has been doing it for
decades.
I hope you enjoy CROSHAYing while the rest of us will learn how to
crochet.

You're a ball of intelligence aren't you?

feels so great when they are getting homemade love.

Good instrustions
Ohmigosh. You're my hero. I am so going to try this. I can knit
but I've tried crocheting and we don't get a long, but now I'll
try again! Great job Holly!
aw nice article!! i love love love to knit! (i gotta get back to
crocheting--so ill definitly check your tips! :)
i've been knitting on and off since i was about 6 or 7 and it's
one of my favourite past times. i rarely every buy things like
scarves and socks anymore because i find it so much easier and
more fun to make something myself, and that way you get exactly
what you want and the knowledge that you've achieved something.
I want to take up knitting, my mum taught me when I was young but
I've forgotten it all now...
I loveeee it :-)
Oh my gosh! I can't believe you showed an article on crocheting! I
love crochet, and knitting. they are beautiful beautiful arts that
everyone should learn!
