49th Annual Grammy's Recap

This year's 49th Grammy Awards show was all about the old uniting with the new. Whether it was the surprise reunion of the Police or the return of the Queen of R&B, Ms. Blige...the show was (at least compared to years past), a total hit.

Performances included the amazing vocals and moves of songstresses Beyonce, Shakira, and Carried Underwood-each of whom wowed the crowd with more than just their hips. Justin Timberlake, who won 2 Grammy's including Best Dance Recording for Sexy Back, had two performances as well. Perhaps one of the more thrilling moments was when 19 year old Robyn Troup, through mass text voting, made it onstage with Timberlake himself (corny, and yet proof that everyone can indeed live out their wildest dreams).

I loved watching The Grammys as I do every year. I also recorded
it. Justin was great. It was also great to see The Fray.
With all the comments about the Dixie Chicks, just had to throw my
own two cents in. While what they said might have been
disrespectful, they were simply stating an opinion about George
Bush. And they didn't deserve what happened to them because of it.
I have recently heard other music artists who were performing in
Canada say that G.W Bush was evil, and even compared him to
Hitler. Now I think that's a lot worse then saying you're ashamed
he's from your home town. But no one said anything about it
(obviously because it was said in Canada). Just seems to me like
the States is losing it's freedom of speech. And yeah, if they won
these awards due to a political statement, then that's not right.
Awards should be given out due to talent and hard work, not as a
political statement.
other than the Tony Bennett wins and Christina's win and
performance, the grammys were a disappointment for me this year.

It seems that I was wasting my time watching Natalie Maines of the
dixie chicks make smug comments about their wins. like "Okay,
we're ready to make nice."

I just wanted to smack her so hard.
THE FRAY DIDN'T WIN ANYTHING?! that's so messed up in so many
ways.
<333john and luda though
I was a lil angry that John Mayer won best pop vocal album, hense
it's vocal and I'm sorry Christina has way more vocal talent than
he does.

I knew Luda would win an award and I'm happy he did. I love his
new album. Runaway Love is AMAZING!

Now, Justin was supposed to perform three times, but was sick and
that's why Smokey Robinson took the stage. That was actually
Justin supposed to be up there. But he toughed it out and
performed two times anyways.
His piano performance was HOT

Oh and I'm very happy Christina won best female. She deserved it!
luda got a grammy?? neato.
who cares that the dixie chicks got so many awards? the music is
good. why does it have to be seen as a huge political statement?
wtf why did the dixie chicks win so many? i heard them maybe twice
during the year on the radio. and natalie maines has no neck. gah.
like how they leave out country male winner in this article??
author...nicely done :o)

i love that mayer. although i'm a little mad at him right now
with the whole "jessica simpson" thing. ugh.
I hate the Dixie Chicks now! Since that comment about George Bush
made me so mad even though I don't really like him either but it
was so disrecptful. I love Carrie Underwood! I'm so glad she won 2
awards. I voted for Robyn Troup on yahoo. She had a good voice
plus she was from Texas. I love Justin Timberlake! It was so
awesome that a non- recording artist got to perform with him.
The Dixie Chicks "wins" were a political statement and not about
the music. And made the award show pathetic and not a credible
award show. It just shows how out of the touch the Grammy voters
are, with the people.
yeeea, whoever did the prediction article on this website did a
pretty bad job. congrats to john mayer!!
I was so bored with the hype of the grammy's I had no interest
this year so I missed it completely :-( I'm off to u-tube to see
what I missed.
Justin's first performance was amazing! But kinda viscious??
Anybody else think so?? Was that targeted at Britney or what??
Hmmm... lol
