Fall Out BoyInfinity on High

Many questions begged to be asked about Fall Out Boy's new album Infinity on High. For starters, what's up with the album cover? What's with the creepy Sheep? Why are the individual track names longer than my college thesis?
The answer is quite simple: Fall Out Boy revel in the lyrical braggadocio and overall excess of mainstream hip-hop, not the chunky riffage and downtrodden meandering of rock.
When FOB's chief lyricist Pete Wentz scribed the line "Say your head could be your prison / Then these are just conjugal visits" on "The Take Over, The Breaks Over" (a nod to label-head Jay-Z's "Takeover"; Hova himself appears on "Thriller," the disc opener) one can assume he writes for rhythm, rhyme and reason, in that order. And according to the title of their past hit "Sugar, We're Going Down," Fall Out Boy truly realize that a spoonful of sugar does indeed make the medicine go down.
