Have you ever seen the teen movie Can't Hardly Wait? This film is set at a party the night after graduation, and each character--the sensitive guy, the popular girl, the jock, the wannabe rapper, the punk/goth cynic--has their own agenda for the night. Of course, there is also the nerd William Lichter--class valedictorian and future Harvard student--and he plans on getting revenge on all the jocks who have made his life miserable. In spite of everything that happens in the film, in the end Lichter finds that everything is still the same--despite the friendships he thinks he has made, he is still picked on and ostracized. However, viewers discover he gets the last laugh when it is revealed that William eventually becomes a millionaire and is currently dating a model.

But, then again, that's just a movie--right? I can't say that I know the high school status of each of the following people, but I know for sure that they have made it big using their smarts. Here is a list of the geeks who have made a name for themselves using their brains (and maybe a little money too):

Well, yeah, why wouldn't I like Apple?

I'm just giving examples from one company though. Apply it to the
other companies though. My point is, the CEOs aren't the only
people bringing forth the technological advances within an
established computer company.
GEEKS, we should appreciate them more.....give them more
respect.....
i think that this article is kinda cool though. geeky guys should
get more recognition than just to be called a nerd. i am glad
that the world is changing in that way! it makes me happy.

GO GEEKS!
You really like the Apple company eh?

Either way, I liked to article! It's so true, and I'm seeing that
become the case regarding my high school class (a lot of the
popular/part crowd now go to community colleges, the dweebs are
scattered amongst really good collected like WPI and Harvard and
Georgia Tech, etc, etc)
As someone's whose been an Apple faithful since the beginning, I
gagged when I first saw the picture of Bill Gates. But honestly,
it was more rounded out when the other guys were added into the
mix.

Honestly I think some guys deserve some recognition. Apple would
not be the company it is today without Steve Wozniak ("the
brains"), Steve Capps (the "mad programmer"), and Jef Raskin (the
pioneer behind the idea of the Macintosh-- he also had many other
patents in other areas such as in the aviation industry). Jobs is
actually more along the lines of someone who knows how to market
the creations of these men. I'm not saying he shouldn't lead
Apple, because heck, you all know no one else leads it like Jobs
does (heck, you know how many times Apple was warded off
bankruptcy, especially in the dark ages, a.k.a. the 90's?)

And that's just for Apple, not to mention many other guys who
pioneered technologies for other companies.
Good, I'm glad the author included Steve Jobs and "The Google
Guys" in this list. Because whether you debate who got what first
in the beginning years of the micro PC (what most of us would
consider the first computers) the fact of the matter is, Apple was
there. And these days Apple is here with iPods, and they're
gaining market share in the computer market. Just like you have to
include Apple when talking computers, you have to talk Google when
talking about the internet. What would the internet be like
without Google? Well, it may be that Yahoo or someone would have
come in and grabbed the searching king gauntlet. But would we have
gotten such useful tools as Gmail? Google Desktop search? Maybe,
but it would have been less likely without Google I think.

So very well done I'd say.
swt now i will b nice =]] lol
Nice. :)
