Hey, you.

Yes, you.

Put down the glue gun and the tragically outdated fabric swatches. It's time to face the facts and admit that when it comes to do-it-yourself projects, you may need a little help. No need for glitter or felt squares. These projects will be as useful as they are fun. Not to mention easy!

If you're going to take the time to do a craft then you better be able to show it off, right? Try your hand at this fun project. It's perfect to add a little decoration to your room:

Decorative Light Switch Cover

What You Need:

Fimo or Sculpey clay in desired colors
Rolling pin
Wax paper
Cutting surface
Craft knife
Metal light switch plate (Make sure it's metal! Plastic will melt when you have to put the project in the oven!)

Directions:

1) Knead clay to make it smooth and pliable. Check manufacturer's instructions to gain desired consistency.

2) Tear off a sheet of wax paper and lay out on craft area.

3) Roll out clay on wax paper until thin. Check size needed for height and diameter of switch plate. Make note of where the light switch hole is located.

4) Place wax paper with clay on cutting surface.

5) Using straight edge and craft knife, cut top and bottom edges to fit switch plate.

6) Carefully pick up clay and lay over the switch plate, smoothing as you go.

7) Use craft knife to trim side edges to fit switch plate.

8) Use craft knife to cut the openings on the switch plate.

9) Knead and roll out any additional colors to create designs for the switch plate. Cut out using the craft knife.
10) Press lightly into place on the clay covered switch plate.

11) Bake according to manufacturer instructions. Let cool.

12) Install the light plate (don't worry, it's not as difficult as you think it would be!) and enjoy.

Although this article was a bit short, it had some nice ideas. A
good place for ideas would be www.craftster.org. I love going on
there and posting what i've done and getting new ideas!
this is the most useless article ever
Well these look fun. It's a well written article too although your
comment on it is a little ...immature.
I'm going to do the light switch plate one. I need to get a
different light switch... this 20 year old Looney Tunes one isn't
doing it for me...
