Although the Harry Potter series is not yet completed, it is clear that it is already an instant children's classic. The first book in the series, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (known as Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in Britain) has sold about 90 million copies worldwide and is one of the best known children's books today. The other books in the series have also seen impressive sales. In fact, the last released book, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, set records when it sold 6.9 million copies within 24 hours of its release. The next and last installment of the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, is set to release this summer on July 21, 2007 and is highly anticipated.
The success of the Harry Potter series propelled its author, J.K. Rowling, into international fame and renown. Although Rowling's sex is not obvious by the name printed on the book covers, Rowling is in fact a female. Along with writing wonderful stories for people of all ages to enjoy, Rowling has an interesting story of her own as well.

great. The thing is that she practically ignores common rules of
favored writing but yet she sells the books. It just proves that
writing content and connections holds greater value than writing
conventions.
Even so, I'm looking forward to the last book, even though I've
read a book 7 fan fiction that kicks arse.
