I'm not giving Christina Aguilera all the credit for this, but her new video "Candy Man" (and her matching Rolling Stone cover last winter) pretty accurately capture the new vibe sweeping the fashion scene this spring.

With March finally here, and cheery weather well on its way designers are turning to fun and upbeat 1940's inspired girly garb...and I love it!

i dont really like this look!!!
I'm not digging this look. I don't think high waists are very
flattering.
I'm totally feeling this. The 1940's was all about hips. Belts
create and accentuate a womans waist. Any girl can where a tee and
throw a blet round her waist. I do it every so often, and it
spunks up a look. Same goes for the high waist skirts, yeah they
are not comfortable but size 10s can totally make it work. Hips
are hot, no use hiding 'em and covering them up fashionably is the
way to go.
I wont be wearin this kinda stuff. For a start it all seems very
old. Im thinkin retro prints and acid colours. I guess maybe being
english my fashion sense is a bit different
the only thing is that only certain people can wear it, and its
those women who are extraordinarily skinny and actually have a
figure to match. If you want to get away with this you cant be
overweight as a lot of teenage girls are these days. You have to
have a l940's figure to actually match the style of the 1940's.
and not a lot of girls nowadays fit this criteria
mmk..

elements of it have been around forever. In my opinion, its a
trend thats taking full force this season especially in the 2007
spring collections of multiple designers listed here. take a look
at their collections! they're pretty cool:)
This trend has been around for a good couple of seasons now.

Good clothing choices, not so good article.
