Highly-regarded series like Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon release sequels every calendar year, officially making the military strategy genre as the new sports franchise. Slight updates, graphical overhauls and gameplay tweaks aside, the main reason players aren't getting bored with these games is not because of simple scene-changing, but for new missions. Trudging around and capping off the opposition's skull is a fine thing indeed, but a reliable story must be in tow.

Rainbow Six: Vegas arrived to critical acclaim just a few months ago; I have yet to explore its micro-nooks and crannies. And here I am today, reviewing another military game that is sure to hold my life hostage for another few months.

I still get nightmares from getting my car smashed in Mario
Kart...
ha, when I first started to get into GRAW, it would freak me out
when I was playing online. Something about the thought of REAL
people shooting at me use to make me just about freak out. So I
think you're right Mike - it's very possible that the games are
going to start getting a bit TOO real.
I couldn't agree more, Mike. The more 'realistic' these games get
more blurred the line between what's PC and what's not gets.

While GRAW 2 is very impressive on so many levels I yearn for the
simple days of Tetris sometimes...

Go Wii and Nintendo DS!

these games are getting pretty real. i wonder if kids are going to
start having the kind of post battle stress that adults are having
now after coming back from war?

not meant as a joke, i really think that time is coming, as these
games get closer to reality.
this looks fun!
