How are things different now than they were back in the day? One thing that is different is television. I think there was a total of three channels when my mom was growing up, so if the President was on giving a speech, the night was shot. Also, if you think about it, the types of shows that they have on television nowadays have changed. We used to see things like Leave It To Beaver, I Love Lucy, and The Jeffersons. These are all the same kind of show. They are all good hearted comedies that had two purposes: to make people laugh and to entertain. Let's look at a few of the shows that we have on television today. First, this CSI show; although it is really entertaining, it focuses on the negative things in this world. Does this mean that we should just forget about the negative things that go on in this country every day? No. It means that when someone comes home after a hard or challenging day the one thing they do not need is a negative show on TV.

I completely agree with you.
As much as I love all the CSI's (I'm not really into the reality
tv, I mean every once in awhile but not a huge fan) they do focus
more on well basically murder.
And the reality shows are all about having sex with people and
other people fighting and yelling all the time.
It's like you said..who wants to come home after a hard day of
work and see people get killed or people fighting and screaming at
each other.
I would love to watch and I love Lucy or the Jeffersons when I
come home one day.
It would make my night alot more relaxing.
