Modern Cowgirl Style

The Wearable West

I live in a very small rural community; it's so small that I swear the cows out number the people. Okay, so maybe it's not that small or that rural, but it is still relatively little. It's a cowboy hat and boot wearing, truck driving community, and yes, you may see a tractor parked in the high school parking lot. So, western wear is naturally going to be a big part of my wardrobe.

Western wear can be a little outrageous at times, but I believe that you can tastefully add a little modern flare to it for it to look great and be wearable in public. It's as simple as adding a little bit of this, but then taking away little bit of that. If done properly, it can be a very simple and classic look.

Anne Hathaway is a mighty fine cowgirl in Brokeback Mountain

those r hideous
those jeans are totally hot i wud like wear them.
So I have some nice cowboy boots, a nice pair of chap and a
gorgeous stetson hat. I also have multiple rodeo shirts as well.

I suppose growing up in the county with the cows in the backyard
is typically why individuals dress different than those from the
city. My hometown, there are 2 cows to every person and about
half as many hogs. I even worked on a dude ranch where I was able
to horseback ride all the time and teach kids how to rope and hog
tie.
I've got a couple of cowboy shirts but they don't look like
them.Also,
I wear what are called Justin Workboots. They're boots but they
don't look like cowboy boots.
I have more "cowgirl" clothes than that... and I'm from Washington
State. And those boots are ... not... good for anything. And the
jeans... Levis all the way. Wrangler are too... blah for me. Haha.
Seriously though all of my jeans are Levis and they're really
cheap where I get them so... yeah. But anyway nice try, but I
think if you just take jeans, a simple t shirt, a belt and some
boots you're fine. Cowgirls really don't "dress up" much except
for the rodeo..
meh.

I think people who dress like "cowgirls/cowboys" for the look are
dumb.

If you're raised in the south/southwest/midwest and you're
accustomed to that look, then it's all fine. However, if you just
think it looked adorable in Brokeback Mountain and HAD to have
some the outfits for fun, you look ridiculous.
the boots...DEFINITELY not cowboy boots...horrible!!
I really want some Harley Davidson cowboy looking boots and a
black cowboy hat... the 3rd commenter is right these aren't really
authentic just to get the look... the "soho" boots are WAY wrong.
I'm from Texas and our western wear is nothing like what's on
here. The jeans are all wrong. If you're jeans cost $29.99 they're
not the right jeans. I don't know any place around here that you
can get a good pair of jeans for that cost. The belts are okay,
but they look cheap. Your belt needs to have conchos on it or a
lot of shine. The boots made me laugh (especially the black pair)
because if you wear that to a rodeo/bar here you'll get talked
about. Those aren't real boots, that's just fashion for up north.
I got these
