Between a number of setbacks, delays and the pressure to deliver another set of finely-tuned R&B, Bobby Valentino had a quick chat with Kiwibox about his sophomore album, working with Ludacris and future plans up to and including a nationwide tour. And it goes something like this:
Kiwibox: First things first: Although you have spoken out on the delay of your sophomore album Special Occasion numerous times, could you give some insight for those not in the know?
Bobby Valentino: Prior albums by different artists have been pushed back for many reasons up to and including [the album] getting leaked, and this is no exception. Luckily, I had a lot of tracks to work with so I was never too worried about the leak. Online the track-listing shows that I had 18 tracks on the album, but I have so many more than that recorded and ready to go for any project I'm working on. After the leak I recorded some new tracks as well.
Kiwibox: What new songs for Special Occasion have you recorded since the October release date came and went?
Bobby Valentino: Well, there are so many tracks I cut since then. Overall I recorded over 60-70 songs for the album, and I've picked the best 15 from the bunch. "Anonymous" was one of the songs I've recorded since the leak too.
