Green design may not be on the top of your priority list, but it can really help save our resources one step at a time. Green design, also called sustainable design, is simply the act of using products that are economically friendly, that is, things that the earth replenishes naturally and in a short period of time. The best example of this would be bamboo because it grows naturally and expediently.
Right now I am taking an interior design course at my university, and guess what floor plan I have to create? A green design friendly beach home. I am having a tough time finding things to use because not that many people have bought into green design yet. Not only are building materials hard to find, they are very expensive. However, the prices might be outrageous but everything is sustainable and can last almost a lifetime.
