Note: This is the second part to a four part series. The first part covered all the essentials to writing a resume.

Every resume has the essentials of a header, objective, educational background, and work experience, but sometimes when you lack work experience, you can use fillers to show your skills and talents to make up for the lack of experience. These can range from listing special skills, classes you have completed, volunteer experience, memberships, and awards. All of these are important to an employer, but when you're applying for a job, you need to make sure you show the most important features, so it's up to you to decide what the employer sees and what is left out.
These are "extras" to make your resume stand out above all the others. This is where you can add things that you're involved with or special skills you have that wouldn't necessarily belong with your educational background and work experience.
