If you ask me, Frank Sinatra got the wrong nickname. 'Ol Blue Eyes has nothing on Paul Newman. After 82 years the man has still got it; he's still handsome, still working, and still going strong. So, for the duration of this Celebrity Spotlight I'm going to refer to Mr. Newman as 'Ol Blue Eyes. He deserves it, even if it's just this once.OBE has had an expansive career. Really. Born on January 26, 1925 Paul Newman went from small-town boy, to World War II veteran, to Ivy-League graduate (Newman graduated from Yale's drama conservatory after returning home from the war).
Hollywood was in a state of change in the late 1950's and early 1960's and Newman was lucky (and talented) enough to have transitioned successfully. Films like Hud, Cool Hand Luke, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and Slapshot put Newman among the ranks of actors who today is looked at as an inspiration and influence.
The Color of Money (1986)
After appearing in over 30 movies and enjoying a marriage of almost 50 years, Newman could have settled into his twilight years with plenty to be proud of.
But did he stop there? Of course not.

An avid philanthropist, Newman created Newman's Own in 1982. This organic line of food products started out as merely salad dressings and other simple products, but has since expanded to pasta sauce, lemonade, popcorn, salsa and more (try the limeade!). What makes Newman's Own special is the fact that Newman donates all profits after taxes to undisclosed charities around the world. As of April 2006, the brand has donated over 200 million dollars to different organizations in need.
