Based on the Sutphins family -- Matriarch Beverly (Turner), Eugene (Sam Waterson), Misty (Ricki Lake) and, Chip (Matthew Lilliard) the film starts off with detectives visiting the Sutphins on a typical morning. The cops question the family on mysterious phone calls to the Sutphins' neighbor, Dottie Hinkle (Mink Stole). This incident began when Mrs. Hinkle stole Matriarch's parking spot while grocery shopping. It is later revealed ] that Matriarch is the culprit.
Meanwhile, Beverly stops by her son's school to have a meeting with his math teacher, Mr.Stubbins. Stubbins asks Matriarch about his obsession with horror films and are there any problems at home. Stubbins later responds that Matriarch is doing something wrong in her parenting skills. Matriarch then snaps and does the unthinkable. In anger, she runs over Mr. Stubbins with her car! Surprisingly, Matriarch doesn't know that a female student saw the whole incident. Calmly, Matriarch then goes to the car wash and has the blood washed off!
