Mandy Moore

Young, Talented, and Scandal Free

You won't find any scandals here. No crotch bearing, binge drinking, diva tantrums, anorexia rumors or Paris Hilton-feuding tabloid headlines around here. While her peers have made a name for themselves by acting out in the media, Mandy Moore has managed to become one of Hollywood's leading ladies, using what seems to be a rarity these days: Talent.

Born Amanda Leigh Moore, 23 years ago in Nashua, New Hampshire and raised near Orlando, Florida, the aspiring singer's interest in performing peaked after seeing a Broadway production of Oklahoma. Her maternal grandmother, a former entertainer herself, encouraged her granddaughter to pursue her dream of becoming a future performer.

Moore experienced her first taste in the spotlight when she became the regular national anthem performer at Florida's sporting events, earning her title as "The National Anthem Girl." That title would later become a blessing in disguise.

As a pre-teen she honed her performer skills by participating on both local and school theatrical productions, but hadn't got her big break until a Fed Ex employee presented a tape of 14 year-old Moore to an old friend of his, who happened to be the head of Epic Records. Moore was signed immediately, and the rest is pop history.

I've been a fan of Mandy Moore since seeing her embark on the pop
scene in her first video for her single "Candy". She has such a
beautiful voice and is a great actress. She's the triple threat!
Mandy Moore is one of my favorite celebrities. She always has
been. I love her hair and how she actually has a female shape
instead of just a stick. Yay for Mandy Moore!!
Typos fixed.

Thanks!

-Josh
She acts in movies I don't mind watching. She sings quite well.
And she seems like the only female celebrity who has it all
together. I like her. She's a good person.
I love Mandy Moore and this is a good article.

Two things...

typo: "She shed her bubble-gum pop image the hard way: By proving
he is a talent to be reckoned and not a manufactured performer."

and: "if 2007 is any indication" is used twice in a short interval
I like her and she's gorgeous but I don't know where her true
talent really lies. She seems to take on pretty average movie
roles these days, and she's not a fantastic singer. "Walk To
Remember" has been her only memorable role acting-wise, but I do
love her album Coverage, even if no one else did.
in a way, her personality reminds me a lot of myself.
i just adore her, i think she's amazing. "because i said so" was
such a cute 'mom & me' movie - my mom got it for mother's day ;o)

i once read an article about her and "7 things you didnt know
about mandy moore" and one of then was that she 'drops the f-bomb
more than she should' which really, i loved, because she was open
and unapologetic about it because it's just her, and that makes
her so much more "real" to me than alot of other so-called role
models in hollywood right now.
