The talented duo from Detroit is back again. In fact, they haven't really gone anywhere.
Clad in their signature red, white and black attire, Jack and Meg White of The White Stripes are coming out with yet another album, their sixth within the past seven years.
Icky Thump, due to be released mid-June, is sure to follow similar patterns of authentic sound simplicity and lyrical content, visible on previous records like 2003's Elephant and 2005's Get Behind Me Satan. Yet for fans of the band and for the music world itself, it's safe to say that this album is highly anticipated.
Reportedly it took three weeks to record Icky Thump, the longest it has taken the band to record an album thus far.
Indeed, it is hard to ignore the distinct sound of this duet. Not irksome enough to be played-out on the radio yet solid enough to achieve mainstream success, The White Stripes have shown the world their true colors within the past few years, receiving critical acclaim from Rolling Stone, winning multiple Grammys and being named one of the "Top 100 Bands to See Before You Die" by Q Magazine, among others.
