300: March to Glory

300: March to Glory
Warner Bros. Interactive (Sony PSP)

Like the movie it's based after, 300: March to Glory is heavy on action and light on story. Where the movie stumbled in certain parts (read: any scene not war-related), the video game version holds up by placing an even heavier emphasis on quick-and-dirty strategy, from tallying up enough points to unlock new moves like poisoning your enemy to equipping stronger weaponry.

King Leonidas, the main protagonist in 300, is under your control in March to Glory. His battalion of 300 Spartans must plow through loads of bloodthirsty warmongers before they face off against the formidable Persian army.

The biggest advantage that this PSP brawler has over its silver-screen big brother is the skippable cut-scenes--it's an option the movie could've used to a great effect.
