Spider-Man 3Activision (Multi-Platform)

When it comes to games based on comics/movies/sequels I can only hope for two things: Stay true to the integrity of the source material (as long as it's quality) and keep the action coming with little or no hiccups (when applicable). The Spider-Man franchise is all of the above yet the next-gen console rendition of Spider-Man 3 leaves much to be desired.
Where Spider-Man 2: The Game showed tremendous growth when alongside the first game in the movie-inspired series Spider-Man 3 is muddled with shoddy controls and the same bloated mechanics that tarnished the movie.

The action in Spider-Man 3 is pretty standard fare--knock enemies out, complete your mission, wash and repeat. The most notable difference this time around is the use of Spidey's fancy new "black suit," which enables him to attack enemies with far more brawn than before. Swapping out palettes when Spidey is against all odds feels very much like a comic-book hero battling his enemies--very well done.
