Tips for the Summer Job at the Mall

How to Not Waste Your Paycheck

One of the most popular places for teenagers to find summer jobs is the local mall. While it may be convenient, it's important to be careful not to spend you whole paycheck during your break. Here are some tips for avoiding that and other mall downfalls this summer.

1. Pack a Lunch

It might seem convenient for a mall employee to run up to the food court and grab a quick meal for lunch or dinner. However, the typical food court grease is not only an unhealthy choice, but the cost of a quick meal adds up! Instead of wasting money and calories on a greasy burger and a heap of salty fries, pack a sandwich and some chips from home. Also, bring a bottle of water and keep it in the back room instead of running out for a $1.25 soda from the machine in the mall. In the long run, your body and your wallet will thank you.

I agree with everyone else
I have to agree with Susan. While your article is titled as "Tip
for the Summer Job at the Mall," your article claims that it will
help you stop from spending your paycheck at the mall. Most of
your points starting on page two have nothing to do with that!
i blew entire paychecks with my gap discount, but i honestly don't
mind. i needed new clothing really badly and i got a lot of things
for half off and they've held up pretty well. employee discounts
are sweet.
does comfy shoes, not having too many visitors, smiling and
nodding, etc have to do with 'How to Not Waste Your Paycheck'? I'm
lost. .
