Graduation feels like yesterday, the summer sun is setting, and now you have moved into your new dormitory and began college- the "best 4 years of your life".
Wait! One more thing: your high school sweetheart. Which opens another chapter, or obstacle, in the relationship- college.
For the non-committed, deciding where to continue on with higher education is a difficult process, but for me, I had my high school sweetheart which made the decision simple. The only question I asked was 'Is it close to Fairfax?' This was soley because Keith, my high school sweetheart, lived only half an hour away from that city.
In order to be closer to him, I only applied to ONE local university. At the time, I was 18 and he was 24. Keith had already went through the college experience and graduated. I had a dream of going to University of Central Florida for cheerleading, but I stayed in the area for him- for US. Our relationship was so serious that we were discussing marriage and family. I would go shopping and eat meals with his mother and sister, and he would do the same with my family. He was "the one".

school sweetheart and I broke up after our 2nd year of college.
We'd been together 4 years. Sometimes high school relationships
can work, but sometimes they don't. We realized that we were going
in different directions, and that it just wasn't going to work.
Now I'm about to head to college with a different boyfriend, and
hopefully it ends better.
