Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's EndDisney Interactive Studios (PS2)

Another day, another third entry of a film-based video game.
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is cut from the same cloth as the other games that are based from the "Big 3" (Spider-Man 3 and Shrek the Third being the other ones) and the song remains the same--hack, slash, rinse repeat. After a cliff-notes re-review of the second film in the PotC series, Dead Man's Chest, players are thrown right into the labyrinthine storyline of At World's End which includes the un-shackling of Elizabeth Swann, the protecting of Jack's BFF boat, the Black Pearl, amongst other seemingly-randomized bits of both the second and third parts of the swashbuckling series.

At least Dead Man's Chest does know that players would much rather play through the hi-jinks of Jack Sparrow rather than Will Turner and Elizabeth. You do get a chance to control both Will and Elizabeth, but it's (thankfully) turned down to a minimum. The character models are not exactly flawless, but they do move fluidly with some quality fine-details, like ruffling shirts and whatnot. And considering that the A-List roster of the movie did not phone-in their likenesses, the voicework done is more than admirable, never sounding too kitschy or over the top.
