Pink Carpet Recap

In the past, the main attraction of the MTV Movie Awards has been the wacky outfits donned by the celebrities looking for some publicity love, but Marilyn Manson has already gone through three red-lipstick wearing women since the days of Rose McGowan's bare booty. This years MTV awards were surprisingly tamer. Little black dresses ruled the pink carpet on everyone from Fergie to Cameron Diaz while the metallic trend has reappeared more safely on the tootsies of some of our favorite starlets. Also popular were loose-fitting jewel-colored gowns hitting below the knee.

Jewel-colored dresses reigned at the awards, many with a voluminous bottom half to accent the bold hues. Metallic shoes in shades of gold and silver, a flashier option to neutral, popped up everywhere to compliment the overall look.

Where the shades of pink donned by Megan Fox (Transformers) and Mandy Moore (seen with her License to Wed co-star John Krasinski) would have been deemed corny a year or so ago, they seem to have made a comeback in a major way. Fox, wearing the lighter pink dress, appears to have really nailed the look by adding an updated silhouette to the girlish pink shade of her dress. Elizabeth Banks' (Spiderman 3) amethyst dress uses a simple, form fitting cut against the strong color, avoiding upstaging the actress.

taller than me, I know that.
Mandy Moore isn't 6'. I think she's 5'10 or 5'8 at the most.
Isn't Mandy Moore 5'10"? Not 6'
I didn't care too much for the fashions. They were so ho-hum, with
the exception of Victoria Beckham's wild-animal-print-gone-wrong
outfit.
