It's a rivalry that goes back decades; pure chocolate-y goodness versus kind hearted sweetness. Which do you side with? Well, keep reading while Kiwibox breaks down the sweet and sour sides of America's favorite Patties.
First, the pros:
Peppermint Patty

She's a mediocre student with a "D minus" average, but don't let Peppermint Patty's seemingly lackluster academic abilities sway your decision just yet. Her prowess on the baseball field and love for her friends trump an "A plus" any day. Out of the Peanuts gang she's the only one with the gall to call the beloved Charlie Brown "Chuck" (whether he likes it or not) and her genuine sincerity towards just about everything is unparalleled in Charles Shultz's legendary comic.
York Peppermint Patties
Mix any two delightful flavors and you're bound to come up with something delicious. Mix mint and chocolate? Well, you get the York Peppermint Patty!
Loved by millions since its creation in 1940, this lovely little confection has gone from a regional delight to a full blown national phenomenon in the past 67 years. And sure, this particular pattie isn't the only dark chocolate-peppermint hybrid, but it is the first to have to be put through a stringent test before getting packaged and sent out to the masses.
One former York employee remembered the final test the candy went through before it was sent out, "It was a snap test. If the candy didn't break clean in the middle, [it wasn't a York's Peppermint Pattie]."
Such standards!
