I'd been "involved" with my hairstylist for quite some time. I felt like I could trust her completely, and that was very important to me when it came to my hair. Like many of us come to find, a good hair dresser is like that pair of perfectly faded jeans that are always guaranteed to make you look your best. Finding the perfect fit, the stylist who listens to your wants, and sometimes knows what you want, before you even know - can be hard. So when you find that connection, you hold on tight!Unfortunately, because we're used to our stylist and because we've got such a routine going, it's hard to stand up to your stylist for fear of hurting their feelings or getting bumped down on the favorite list. You want to remain on your stylist's good side, especially when you have unruly hair and a date Friday night, but she's booked. The more liked you are, the better chance of getting 'squeezed-in' you have. But no matter how liked you want to be, it's important to stand up for yourself. Allowing your hair dresser to over charge you, or do one thing to your hair, when you clearly requested another is not OK.

really, really thick hair and it's not easy to work with. Every
stylist complains of this and comments on how thick my hair is.
Then they go on to tell me that what I want is either A) not
possible or B) possible, but I won't like it!?!
I DO understand that the wave and curl in my hair will cause my
chopped off hair to go shorter than straight hair would.
Obviously I take this into consideration when deciding on length.
But EVERY single stylist proceeds to tell me that they don't want
to take off that much because it'll be shorter than I'd like. So
annoying.
