Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign to Save Darfur

John Lennon, a former member of The Beatles, was an artist that insisted on finding a utopia where the world existed in peace and harmony. "John wrote songs with a very deep love for the human race and a concern for its future. He believed in his heart it was possible to create a better world," says Yoko Ono Lennon, Lennon's wife. He was a social activist, believing that everyone could help in making a difference in the world, be it big or small.

John Lennon may have died 26 years ago, but his music still lives on and continues to carry out important messages to people all around the world. The artists performing John Lennon's songs on the album are creating awareness and helping save lives in places such as Darfur, Sudan. "If there's one thing more inspirational than music, it's having a hand in the movement to achieve human rights and peace for all," says Irene Khan, Secretary General of Amnesty International.
