Everyone knows that summer is synonymous with vacation - but putting education and vacation together seems like a bit of an oxymoron. Honestly now, how many people actually want to bog down their breaks with learning? This summer, rather than letting your parents drag you through another educational outlet on your family vacation try looking for an attraction that blends innovative fun with information.

Here, we took the list of top ten summer destinations in the US, and found fun, teen-friendly attractions that were education in disguise.

10. San Antonio - Enchanted Springs Ranch
The real allure of the old west can't quite be captured in history books, but it comes to life on this 86-acre working ranch. The property is fashioned to be reminiscent of the wild west, complete with a dusty town. For $10, visitors get a wagon ride through the animal park and access to the town and Texas history museum.

I agree that Hawaii has some amazing sites! For the list though, I
used the list of most-visited summer destinations and Hawaii
didn't make the top 10.
Although Hawaii isn't part of the continental United States, it is
still part of the United States. They have some really amazing
things in Hawaii, like the Polynesian Cultural Center where you
can learn how Polynesians live and they also have Sea Life Park,
an outside aquarium.
Hawaii should've been researched for this list definitely!
I wish I could afford to go but I'm not complaining. If I could
spend my summer learning instead of vegging out in the internet I
really would. And to the person who complained about tourism in
their own city...it's a big city with TOURIST attractions. You
shouldn't live there if you don't like it.
Great suggestions. Thanks!
Great suggestions. I loved going to Vegas and NYC. The one place I
hate on the list is Disney World. I live in Fl, I can't stand all
the tourist that come here. I've actually swam with dolphins
before. I did it in Mexico, not Orlando. One thing I would suggest
is going to the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta. My family and I went
there. Just to get tickets, my dad had to get up very early in the
morning. And wait in line for a few hours. But, totally worth the
wait.
Discovery Cove is amazing! I loved it there.
Another great place would be heashey pa, in the amusment park
there a ride that tells the story bout it and at the end you get a
free candy bar... But they also have other interesting stuff in
the town itself.. is an experience altogether
