These days nobody wants to have a fairy tale romance anymore. They want to meet this hot, young chick, take her to the club and get her to put out before the end of the night. Most people meet their girlfriends through other friends or just by chance in a popular place, but there are other option. How would you feel having a torrid love affair with a girl in a foreign and romantic country? Personally, I felt pretty good about it.Picture it Italy in the year 2002. A young and naïve country boy from a little town in southern Louisiana actually gets the chance to tour a European country with a group of his classmates and manages to have a romantic experience that would totally change his life. Well I guess I will tell you the rest of the story.
We flew out of New York to Rome squirming in anticipation on the more than 5 hour flight. At that time I was an extreme romantic and a big ole sap as well. Once we hit solid ground I laid eyes on an absolutely breathtaking Italian girl. I had no idea the first day that she was actually looking at me and thinking that I wasn't all that bad either. I thought I was way too ugly for her but she thought I was charming and sweet and she just couldn't resist me.
We spent every waking moment together. She accompanied my group on all of our tours at my expense of course, but she was well worth every penny that I had in my pocket and in the bank. We talked and laughed the first day and then that night at a spot overlooking the waters of Rome, we kissed. It was the most romantic thing that I had seen or read about. She took my breath away and I made her happy, which was something that I had not experience. I had never before made a woman happy. All the other times I was baggage and there was someone else in the background making them happy.
